Has Ebay Gone Nuts. Sales & Market Manager Completely Insane. Losing business energy & any respect. Everyday its something new that they seem to be changing. One of the busiest holiday weekends for sales the entire year. While the people who came up with these crazy changes are out on their boats or on vacation while the employees take the brunt of an event that whover created should be fired immediately. No business savy. NO COMMON SENSE. The left hand does NOT know what the right hand is doing. Like they say If its not broken don't fix it. We have not had one sale all day and I would not be at all surprised if we are not EVEN ABLE TO RECEIVE A SALE OF ANY OF OUR ITEMS. I think that they are in such a jam that they dont know which way to turn. PUT THE SALES AND MARKDOWN MANAGER BACK TO WHERE IT WAS AND NEXT TIME BE SMART ENOUGH TO NOT DO SUCH AN IGNORANT huge CHANGE RIGHT BEFORE A HOLIDAY. THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO BE SAID ABOUT SO MANY THINGS BUT I HONESTLY HAVE NO MORE ENERGY WASTING MY TIME W/ EBAY. WE HAVE ENDED UP LOSING MONEY WITH THEM WHILE THEY WILL DO WHATEVER TO ASSIST THE BIG WIGS FROM CHINA ETC MAKE MONEY HAND OVER FIST.
EBAY YOU REALLY HAVE BECOME A SHAME AND WHEN MY PARTNER AND I WERE DISCUSSIING THIS AND ABOUT ITS STUPIDITY WE DECIDED TO CHECK ONLINE AND GO FIGURE. THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN NEGATIVELY IMPACTED.
WE ALL ARE DUE AN EXPLANATION W/ COMPLETE TRANSPARENCY AND THIS HAS ALREADY MADE BIG NEWS. MOST IMPORTANT ANY ONE AFFECTED SHOULD BE COMPENSATED ACCORDINGLY. WHAT SAY YOU??

eBay does not care about sellers. And clearly has no respect for us. They are obviously trying to move toward a business model more like Amazon and are purposely pushing out the sellers who don’t fit that plan.
EVERY CHANGE made in the past several years has made the lives of sellers more difficult. I challenge anyone to name EVEN ONE change that has benefitted sellers.
I can only wish that another selling platform will come along who sees that sellers are the real backbone of their business. If one does, plenty of sellers will ditch eBay since they clearly have no loyalty or respect for us whatsoever.

I was told today (07/02/18) by eBay support that there are three 14-day requirements now as follows...
1). Item must be listed for 14 or more days, AND...
2). Item has had no change in price for 14 or more days, AND...
3). Item was not on sale for 14 or more days.
Normally we run a 2~5 day sale every 7 or 10-days. These new "rules" eliminate ALL of my 79 items from be put back on sale for 2-weeks!
We normally make at LEAST two or three sales every weekend. This past weekend we had $0 sales because we couldn't run a promotion.
After 20+ years, we're likely quitting eBay now... this is just the last straw.

My sales went from over $100 a day down to $50 average gross last 4 days. Today I just made $20, wow. I had my store on sale for years and now can't do it and costing me lots of money. I did put a lot of items at auction at my old sale price and hopefully that will help, but it cost me like $50 in fees. Only other thing to do is list new inventory and hope for the best, but this is getting pretty discouraging. I DOUBT Ebay will change this rule back as they have had it in the UK site for past year or so. It would have been NICE to have a warning about it in markdown manager so I could have extended my last sale out instead of having to wait out 14 days of making little to no money.

Penney's isn't eBay. On eBay, if someone doesn't buy your widget because you're not running a sale at the moment, they'll probably buy from another eBay seller who is running one. eBay loses nothing.

Yeah, but unfortunately there's still nothing much right now considering the economy. If ebay is trying to become another Amazon, they'll stand far far far away from Amazon. Amazon is way more professional and still expanding. Right now what's dominating the market are products made in China, I'm kinda fed up with them.

Maybe for some people living paycheck to paycheck that is all they can afford.

Whats the point of even having a store if you cant put things on sale whenever you like? You save pennies on the fees but in the end you pay for it anyway in monthly fees? Im tired of ebay giving me carpal tunnel too with all the changes. I should be able to check box all my items and mark them as 30 day returns by pushing one button-- instead of spending hours bulk editing each listing. EBAY code is lacking. If they cant figure out simple solutions like that then how will they ever figure out complicated ones?

I feel your pain but could you please not create an entire post in italics? I never realized how hard it was to read that much copy slanted but now I know why I've never seen any of my design peers do it.

It would seem that you are somewhat disappointed with the way ebay has chosen to run their website and platform. However, it would also appear that ebay is quite happy with what they are doing and with their business plan.
One of the aspects that you seem to have neglected, is that nobody has to sell on ebay. And, if, as you say, there are so many people that are dissatisfied, there would seem to be more than an adequate number to well populate another platform that is much more to their liking.
On a lighter note, another aspect that you have neglected is that most people are quite satisfied to be content and just wail 'woe is me', rather than do something about it - like move to another platform or even help start and support another platform.
