Guidance on AutoPay Sales needed

Ok, the short version is. I use auctions to sell. They all end the same day or within 48 hours.  I sell this way because I don't have to be paying attention to ebay customers for more than 8 or 9 days out of the month.  Now, with AutoPay delay the buyer gets another 7 days to pay... he/she can't buy anything else from me, the sale lasted 7 days and there are no items up for auction.  I now have to check every day to see if they paid because I have 24 hours to ship after payment.    I want out of this... so, CAN I CANCEL THOSE SALES THAT WANT TO USE THE AUTO PAY DELAY ????  My time is way more valuable to me that the $4 or $5 dollars I make on a sale.  This is not something I opted in to do and I want out of it.  I hope I can just cancel the sales and get on with life.

You would be better off turning OFF the settings that result in the AUTO-PAY situation in the first place.  These limit the buyer's payment options, and resulted in the loss of the ability to combines shipping for multiple auction wins for your buyers.   This was VERY unpopular with buyers, and when they saw that your listings required use of the "Buyer Rules", they just went someplace else.    eBay made this problem of PAYING buyers refusing to participate, and now they are allowing as a "test" some buyers to increase their time to pay anyway.  You don't know which ones, and have no control.

If you turn these off, you can then once again provide combined shipping, send invoices, and file after 96 hours (or your choice of time) the unpaid item cancellation.  You could also use the unpaid item assistant to do this for you.

If you are not interested in buyers purchasing multiple items from you,  you can also simply use the fixed price option and mark it immediate payment required.  Then the buyer will have to pay separately for each item, but at least they can choose the payment option they desire unless you entertain offers or send offers.

You can cancel any sale you like, but only under certain circumstances can you do so without getting a defect on your account for it. I very strongly suspect this will not be one of those circumstances.

You can disable Autopay in your Account Settings if you wish to avoid this in the future. If you cancel those sales that have already happened and just have not yet been paid, though, you will need to choose “Out of Stock” as the closest reason to the truth, since your buyers are not asking to cancel and there is no problem with their address. That will earn you a costly defect on your account for each order, and very likely negative feedback as well. I would not recommend canceling those orders.
