I use eBay occasionally. I recently put up two auctions. I just sold one item before noticing this.
I selected 3 business days handling because I need 3 business days to ship out. I just viewed my listings and they say "Guaranteed delivery by Tuesday April 14 if paid within 20 minutes"
That just isn't possible. 3 business days after payment means I will be shipping this on Tuesday (perhaps Monday at the earliest) and I am shipping priority mail, which is another 2-3 days.
I emailed as the phone lines are closed. I'm unsure what I did wrong or why I am in a situation where eBay is setting more demanding expectations than I agreed to meet. Is this a known issue? What will happen? Should I just cancel the sale and my listings and forget about it?

The estimates are partially based on buyer location, among other factors. So the estimates you see may not be what others see.
Likewise, while you set your handling time to 3 days, ebay is still going to give shorter estimated time frames because you are offering priority. If you need more time to get items to buyers, try changing the method of shipping being used. You could change it from priority to standard, which is 5 business days.

Edit
to say this is a post that ebay is adding same day shipping
So not what you are posting about but just to give any idea of how off the wall some delivery dates are showing up
It's been an ongoing issue with many posts about it
Here is just 1 response from ebay community staff on the weekly chat a few weeks ago, look at post #67

But also did you log out and look at delivery Est from another zip code
And as told by ebay myself even if I do 2 to 3 day handling they do as above poster has said go by how I normally ship within the one day when they are giving the Est del dates on my items

No one ever reads the fine print on these GD sales also ....
"Additionally, the delivery date is not guaranteed until you’ve checked out and your payment clears."
I'd bet once someone pays, they get a different date.
And remember, they can get their shipping refunded - but since you have no returns and free shipping, they can only get a 5.00 credit from ebay if when it doesn't arrive on time.
