GoDaddy retiring online bookkeeping

Just got the following email from GoDaddy.  Of course, that is the service I use.  I hate change.

Online Bookkeeping will retire in 30 days.

After much consideration, we've made the decision to discontinue Online Bookkeeping on June 18, 2022. At that time, the Online Bookkeeping tool will stop importing transactions from your connected channels and your existing data will be archived. To provide you with the best possible experience going forward, we've partnered with Intuit to offer you a special discount on QuickBooks Online.

You have until September 30 to download your Online Bookkeeping content. You can either move your data to QuickBooks using our migration tool or export your .csv file and import it to another accounting platform. You'll receive a prorated return for any time remaining on your term.

We appreciate your business and are here to help make your transition as smooth as possible.

Anyone have experience with QuickBooks, good or bad?

Were you able to get a better deal by calling them?

Thats what I did. I just uploaded the csv file into a free spreadsheet I downloaded off the internet. It gives you all the total you need . Gross sales minus ebay fees and shipping costs. I keep a record of my cost of goods anyway. Thats really all you need for taxes. Mileage and other expenses I just keep in a ledger.

I have heard that the monthly eBay seller invoice sometimes has charges appearing on it that are not on the most recent month's CSV, so the seller still needs to go over the invoice line by line and manually add any charges that aren't already on the CSV.

I just went over my May CSV and invoice and I've already found a couple odd things on there that I need to research a little more carefully. Does anybody have some experience in how to reconcile these things?

I have been trying to get the data transferred over for weeks from GoDaddy into QB with little success of matching or even coming close. Then it hit me one morning, why am I wasting my time trying to get Quickbooks data to match up with past GoDaddy transactions.  Simply begin Quickbook data input in the middle of June or whenever. Then at the end of the year just put the two together. Just my work around for now.

Is there anywhere or anyone that could assist with this? I have called around local accountants and they don't have a clue. I would gladly pay someone to help. List your services on eBay so I can buy them!

Thanks for the info. I actually had a email sent to Janet the owner of the company to help me figure this out. It looks to be a good investment as well because you just pay for the spreadsheets once and none of that monthly forever fee. BTW, I have still no resolution from quickbooks as to why the ebay app will not work. I figured it was because GoDaddy was downloading all the data and that I would be getting double data from ebay. I will be cancelling that subscription if these doo doo’s can’t figure this out. What a hassle.

They have no idea yet with my investigation going on with them why this ebay app refuses to cooperate.

You know if the darn Ebay app would do what is suppose to do it would work ok. I spent a lot of time just fiddling around on the application and figured out how to categorize everything but if this thing will not load the ebay data it is USELESS.

It seems to be a no win with quickbooks getting data transferred from their ebay app. Let me tell you this. I have had at least 12 conversations with quickbooks personnel and ebay over this since this godaddy stop happened. They keep telling me to hold on they are looking into this case and zero resolution of this issue so far. I recommend highly Janet Leblanc’s paper and spark spreadsheet for ebay. You have to enter the data with a cvs file from your ebay transaction reports. They will populate automatically on Janet;s spreadsheet. Then you do have to enter you expenses manually on her spreadsheet every month and they will populate as a summary for the month and year on her spreadsheet for ebay. O have all my expenses coming out of Pay Pal so I will have to just manually enter each expenses religiously like office expense, costs of good, supplies etc.

You know George , this whole thing has been a complete nightmare. But thank goodness for Janet Leblanc’s ebay spreadsheets.

I need to add that we operate on an IPad exclusively so some of this stuff we are experiencing is going to be a bit more difficult because of this and the way an IPAD manipulates/stores data and the way it transfers it. I makes things all the more complicated for us. iPad has a program called numbers though that can store the cvs files and I am praying it can copy and paste into Janet Leblanc’s paper and spark spreadsheet.

Yeah that would have solved this incredible problem quite nicely.

Amen to that! I started using Paper + Spark, and it works well. The only thing I need to figure out is how to reconcile the occasional expense on the monthly invoice that does NOT appear on the CSV.  Janet's user manual for Paper + Spark had some tips on how to figure that out, but I haven't looked that closely yet because I got too busy with other things.  I am hoping to make some time this weekend to delve back into this.
