Give us back the option for the classic listing tool

Ebay - you are the worst. The new listing tool is awful (I know I am not the first seller to say this). It is slow and clunky. It changes the details I enter after I enter them.  Every time I want to alter the text in the description box, it asks me if I'm sure I want to do so. Yes, I'm sure. Give me an option to stop seeing that message after the first time I see it. Really, just give us back the old listing tool. THIS IS NOT AN IMPROVEMENT

It isn't going to happen.  Ebay is transitioning everyone to the new tool.  Ebay wants everyone using the same tool whether you create your postings with a mobile device or a desk top.

@vintageforthepeople  I have to agree with @mam98031 . The tool isn't going away, and the old tool isn't coming back, no matter how many people complain. Eventually, some sellers might leave because of this, most will adapt, and others will opt for other options, such as SixBit.

I believe these is a section where you can leave feedback on the new tool, and SPECIFIC feedback will at least be considered (ebay has actually made a number of changes as a result of such feedback). But general complaining (it's terrible! it's too slow! I hate it!) will have zero impact.

I know you don't want to hear this, but either adapt or use a third party tool, because the old tool won't be coming back.

unfortunately doesn't look like ebay cared any ioda for all the negative feedback they got from new tools #1 and #2 and this 3rd they just made mandatory to all without any warning prior. I'm all for changes - when they are working right etc... but the #3 new tool is like everything bad from 1 and 2 was used to make #3. (all my opinion of course)... but yeah, it isn't going away, and they cut the opt out option which we all knew was coming eventually anyways. Looks as though Six Bit and some others will be seeing big increase is new user accounts - maybe go check see what their stock is doing 😆

It isn't mandatory for everyone yet.  They are still rolling it out.  I'm still using the old form and will continue to do so until I'm forced into the new form.

The intent of the form was to have unity in the listing form across Ebay.  For both those using mobile devices / the App and those using desk top computers.  One form for everyone.

They claim it is more efficient and has a cleaner design. Every additional stroke, scroll, or drop down is not more efficient and the design is far from clean. They should be able to maintain two formats - mobile vs desktop/laptop. The devices are different and business's dealing in any meaningful amounts of money are not running off of a mobile device. Lean business practices are not new. They have been operating for decades now in both the back end and front-end operations. eBay has gone backwards with this new listing process and it will mean less items being listed. It takes considerably longer and it is truly sad that eBay does not realize there is a place for desktops and mobile devices, but it is not the same place.

My biggest complaint is that it seems much worse in regards to capturing information from the listing title and giving the correct recommended item specifics.

I understand.  I only said what they have said they are doing.  Not that it was good or bad.

I already have one foot out the door; when I'm forced into using the Disaster on a desktop it'll be two feet.

I've used the "improved" app listing tool on my tablet and ... it's a horror.  Just a flat horror.  (Not stupid or flat crazy enough to try it on my phone. Touch screens...'nuff said.)   Programming by Lowest Bidder is always a bad idea.  When they populate some of the specifics from the title they always get it wrong: Color where the brand name ought to be, wrong metal content, you name it. I always have to fix everything. (and we're not even talking about how they keep asking about diamond size and color for COSTUME jewelry listings. ...seriously???)    I'd imagine half the phone users don't even realize they're supposed to write a description because eBay fills it in with the Title.   Best/Worst offer is always On and you have to know where to go in to turn it back off, or at least set it to the correct number to keep the lowballers out of your hair.    I've filled out that "tell us what you think" survey with both specifics and screams with the capslock on that they need to scrap the whole thing without believing anyone  with any authority to fix the problems will ever read it.

Something eBay ought to know but never will: a certain section of the population yells about something once or twice.  Then we go quiet because no one's listening.  It doesn't mean the problem went away .

I do too, especially because I'm a Mentor and I can't really advise people on the use of the tool if I'm not using it myself.  But I'm also an active seller and I don't want all that extra time taken up with trying to work through learning the tool with all it's current problems.  It is my hope that by the time I have to start using the tool that most of the issues will be worked out.
