This has happened 4 times and I’ve only been a seller for about 4 weeks. I get offers, then a message of something like; text me and we can discuss payment. Umm no, I use PayPal for my payment. Today’s was text me and let me know if you have accepted my offer. Also, can you give me your email for your PayPal account? Ummm, no...not that stupid. Does everyone get these stupid offers. Obviously, I decline but this is getting frustrating. Is this the norm?
thanks for listening,

It seems to be the norm to new sellers. It is NOT the norm when you're established. Glad you're smarter than the scammers. Keep it up!

As a new seller, you'll get a lot of scammers trying to steal your items.

Ebay obviously doesn't care that new sellers get these messages - obviously their "AI" isn't smart enough to block them. And they REALLY need to put the report button back in the message. Who is going to call ebay to report these messages?

Those people want to defraud you. Unfortunately, scammers will target new sellers with high dollar items. Once the hapless seller gives them their info, the scammers send a fake but realistic “payment received” email. They try to finagle the seller into overnighting the item or to include a $200 gift card in the package with the item.
Be sure to add those IDs to your Block list. Very glad you are too savvy to fall for this terrible fraud.

Is this the norm?
It is for new sellers especially those just starting out with little to no feedback. You obviously are one step ahead of these miscreants. Go back and block all 4 of them.

Something like....
"Kindly accept my offer and text me back on my cell phone number ***-***-**** Thanks"
Ehh.
"Hi, my name is Troy. Greetings my friend. Kindly text me ***-***-**** for payment and shipping information. Tanxs."
Nahhh.
"Hello my friend. ... blah blah blah."
I never realized I had so many friends?

Personally I see it as an attempt to get your phone number as too many sites including ebay paypal FB are allowing folks to sign in with their phone number. I would NEVER give anyone my phone number online that I do not know.
