I just completed a sale, and I'm a little hesitant to ship to the account. The Name listed for eBay is different from the name on the shipping address. I already reported this through their automated system, but don't know if I'll get a response.
How can I tell if I should ship to this buyer? I would really prefer to avoid a charge back, since it isn't exactly a cheap item. Where can I find a contact number to ask Ebay about this?

So, somebody is sending a gift to a friend or relative.
If they paid, you ship. If it goes south later, come back and we'll go from there.

Whats the problem?
And how to tell - the same way you tell with all of your paid listings - log directly into paypal, make sure the payment is there, it says Seller Protection: Elegible, and OK to ship.

And I see two active listings, nothing sold.

Is there a story behind your user id? I find it disturbing. I'm surprised you can sell anything with it.

I get orders all the time where the names are different on Ebay and Pay Pal, just ship to the address in the Pay Pal transaction.
It could be friends living together where the Ebay account is in one name and the Pay Pal account is in the others name.

What is it that you reported? There's nothing unusual about receiving a different Ship-To: address with the payment, with or without a different name as well. The main point is that you ship to the address provided with the payment, not anywhere else. To verify that it's time to ship, you should log into your PayPal account and view the transaction details of the purchase. If PayPal has received the funds from the buyer, you will see them in your account (possibly with a hold on them, but they will be visible), and there should be an Okay to Ship directive from PayPal for you.
Is this a sale from a different account? While you do have a couple of pricey items listed under your posting account here, neither one is a sale, and your account shows no prior sales either.

Just went ahead and canceled the $400 sale, and relisted. Think I was undercutting competition by too much anyways.

A seller should conduct business in a fair manner.
Buyers do have a legitimate complaint about what you just did.
EBay does discourage sellers and buyers from failing to complete transactions.

-----------
That just cost you $40.00

Dude.... bad move, ebay got their cut of the sale, and you got a mega defect.
And good chance your buyer will slam you on feed back.
You should have cooled your jets, and given some time for us to help you.
I get stuff all the time for "Sock Monkey Dave's Flying Service" it's a house hold name.
My dog Emma D. Dog has her own face page and utube channel.
It is often best, to take a deep breath, and slow down.
