I have been a seller for over 10 years, and recently began using the Global Shipping Program.
Over the past 2 years that I have opted in, I have not had any issues in selling my items, which are vintage electronics and vintage music gear.
Recently, the GSC began holding my guitar amplifier and radio tubes as restricted items.
Yes they refund the buyer, but I am losing customers over this. Selling outside the GSP has resulted in a lot of headaches, and I would like to continue using it, however the GSP needs to review it's protocyl
and remove radio and guitar amplifier tubes in the "Vintage Tubes & Tube Sockets" catagory from it's list of restricted exports. These are simply electronic radio and amplifier parts, no country restricts their importation. I've made this suggestion many times to eBay support reps to submit to eBay, but I don't expect change to come from that. Does anybody have the same issue?

snip: If an item is prohibited in one country, GSP has been known to apply the prohibition to all countries.
That is just outright **bleep**. EBay does not apply blanket restrictions on items prohibited in a particular country.
The destination country determines what imports will be restricted and Pitney Bowes complies when such an item is sent to them for international shipment.

Vintage tubes and tube sockets are restricted only by certain countries. EBay does not place the restriction on them.
I've had several restricted GSP tube shipments over the years. That's just the way it goes. Nobody loses. The buyer gets refunded, the seller keeps the proceeds of the sale.

snip ....and some idiots at Pitney-Bowes thinks all tubes contain mercury ! I believe they're confusing the getter flash for mercury.
Did some idiot tell you that?

If DHL said no to your items, then it is better not to sell overseas
Excellent point.
There is a third party insurance company (shipinsure ?) that many members use, not only to insure shipments, but also as a guide to what countries are and are not safe to ship.
These companies have more solid experience than most eBay sellers. They base their choices on facts rather than emotion.
I do think the "banned in one country, won't ship to any" is the reason that GSP is not accepting tubes. Are they still seizing guitars made with exotic woods?

To top it off, guess who gets the items you sold?
Seller 8ten1944, who will steal your photos and your listing formats, making them look like your products.
Does Vero or eBay do anything, nope lol....
