Free listing promotions

I usually get 50 free listings and then later in the month get 100 more free listings. I was wondering if Ebay is going to give me the extra 100 free listings? I have around 80 listings to list but, I am waiting for the free listings since I don't sell a whole lot and can't afford to pay $25 to $30 in listings. Does anyone know if Ebay will be sending out the 100 free listing promotions for the Christmas Holiday season?

We are all Ebay customers just like you. How do you think we would have any insight into what promotions you are going to recieve? Why would it even make sense for Ebay to share plans for future promotions knowing that some people would then hold their listings to list for free later?

And they have had constant promos since the beginning of December, if not earlier.

Makes it hard to list - because I hate these listing promos. Too much clutter. If it's not worth 30 cents to list it ...................

You usually get an extra 100? You’re the only one.

Have not had any free listings in over a year so consider yourself lucky.

I've gotten two this month, back to back.  If this continues, another promo will begin on the 16th.  That would be pushing it for Christmas delivery, so I wouldn't count on it.

I have the 100 FP or Auctions promo on at least all of my accounts with stores.  Can't remember off the top of my head if my 2 non store accounts have them available as well (I think so).  And strangely enough, in a huge turnaround from how I was a year or two ago, I can't be arsed to activate them and use them up, since that would very likely break my listing pace I have set for myself for the month.  Just don't need the extra busy work.

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

We just received one for 100 free listings on the 10th.  Expires on the 15th.  Best wishes, it was our first promo in a long time and it sure makes you feel better to get the promos!  hang in there.

Eliminate all free listings.  Set a flat 20 cent basic listing fee.  If the item doesn't sell after 90 days, you get the basic listing fees refunded.

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.

If you can't roll 30 cents into your asking price and still make money...why bother to list?

"If you can't roll 30 cents into your asking price and still make money...why bother to list?"

If you sell "long-tail" items--usually unique, and very, very patiently waiting for the right customer--you cannot predict which will sell or when.  The $.30 a listing adds up quickly and can devour all of your slim profit.  It's not just the one item that might sell, it's the 200 others in that batch this month which do not.

We bother to list to sell that handful of items that are in the right place at the right time.
