Recently eBay offered 200 free listing each month for April-May-June.
I've listed 200 for April, plus the usual free 50, and about another 150 new listings for May, and currently have over 400 listings in total. Then, I had some spare listings I've yet to use in May, but recently checked how many free listings I have left and it says 0. Is that the 30 day auto re-listing that use up my free listings?
Sadly I admit don't understand how it works.
But I'm NOW guessing that 250+250+250 don't mean 750 free listings in total, but ONLY 250 free each month.
1) So did I actually paid ebay for 150 insertion fees this month??? (I have 400 listings minus the free 250)
2) Will the listings that already cost me insertion fees will cost me again and again each month?
I can't find any details about it in the receipts they send, and I'm quite mad frankly if that's the case.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks

All the renewals, relists, roll overs or whatever you want to call them are taken from either your monthly allowance or from the freebie listings (not sure which, I haven't really been paying attention to where mine are pulling from). That's how all promos are - all fixed price listings you make using the promos WILL roll over the next month if you don't end them before they do.
Check your account fee activity to see if you've been charged.

Do you have a store? if so what level?
If no store then you had the 50 Free + the 200 free for a total of 250. If you listed more than that then you paid for them. Check your account page here: https://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbayBeta&MyeBay=&CurrentPage=MyeBayNextSellerAccounts¤t...
Edited to add... all Fixed Price listings will renew each month UNLESS you cancel them at the end of the month.
They don't just list for the one month and haven't since last year some time.

I don't have a store yet, but will have to now...
Thanks, I've checked through the link you've sent, but I don't understand if the amount I'm seeing ebay charged me is only for the insertion fees, or also for selling fees. It doesn't specify exactly

Thanks, the ROLL OVER part it seems is what I wasn't aware of, because when I've continued to list new items throughout May, it said the fee was $0, but I didn't know April listings were coming around to count as new listings as well...
While I'm at it:
If I do a basic store, which allows 250 fixed price listings a month, it also says 250 auction style listings per month, is that 500 in total or the same 250?

succinct and helpful 🙂 thanks

The offers are for 50 or 200 free basic insertions. When a fixed price listing rolls over, it will use up one of your free insertions. A free insertion doesn't get you a free listing forever, just for that one month.
So if you set up 250 listings in April, then when they roll over in May they will use up the 250 free insertions for May. (Minus any that sold out, of course, unless you have activated the "Out of stock" option.)

The Basic level of Store subscription gets 250 free fixed price insertions each month plus 250 free insertions that can be used for auction-format listings in 13 specific categories. You can see the list of categories on the basic Help page about Stores fees:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/storefees.html
But the same rollover policies apply: each month, when a fixed price listing rolls over, it uses up one of your free insertions for that month.

250 in FP, then 250 AUCTIONS only. so 500 total listings BUT make sure the Auctions are in the right categories or you will be charged for them...
as to the other part... click on the FEE button on that link I sent you and it will break it down for you.
You are looking for LISTING FEE vrs Final Value Fee
First Link page:
Once you click that then this page should show up:
Click Transaction type to get them to organize in the order you need them to (it'll show the FP listing fee first then the final value fee for items you sold)
Then it should look like this (cept yours is going to have a BUNCH more Listing fees than mine)

Yes they tricked you. They count on sellers like you who don't understand their rules. This is where they clean up in fees. Makes me so sick. For you & every other seller who doesn't know all that they require. I've known about the GTC listing for over a year. Been very vigilant about killing mine before they rolled over, until today. So embarrassed & ashamed of myself for letting 2 listings roll over. Just read every word of promo's that they offer. Sorry this happened to you.

That's incredibly helpful, thanks for taking the time!
It seems I caught it just in time too, got insertion fee for "only" 35 listings, it seems most of my listings were luckily made at the end of April so they have yet to re-list.

I've been hobby selling for about 2 years now, and in this time I've taken a lot of hits from ebay over shipping, return policies and whatnot. Recently with the virus I thought I'll try to up my game as a seller, and again, every time I think I got the hang of it, there's more ways they find to mess with you.
And the thing is I'm your perfectly honest small time seller, not some bot, arbitrage seller or "importer" from China. I get that all of this is my fault, but they can certainly do a lot more to make using their platform clearer. It's hard not to think they do it on purpose. I wish there was an alternative.
