Fraudulent purchase of my item.

I had a fraudulent purchase of a vehicle I'm selling. The buyer said he never made the order. Ebay apparently cancelled the order when I was dealing with the automated system, however they need to restore my listing.

I'M SOOO **bleep** OFF! KEEP GETTING RUN AROUND IN CIRCLES BY THEIR AI!! REFUSES TO CONNECT ME WITH A LIVE PERSON. THE SYSTEM DOESN'T LIST A TOPIC TO ADDRESS THIS.

I'M SOOOO FREAKING **bleep** OFF WITH EBAY.. I'M JUST ABOUT OVER THE HASSLE!!!

HOW THE FREAKIN HEII DO YOU GET A REAL PERSON ON THE PHONE SO YOU CAN ACTUALLY TELL THEM WHAT YOU NEED??? THEY CAN TAKE THEIR AI AND SHOVE IT. WAKE UP AMERICA, THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO WITH AI... NOT REAL PEOPLE TO HELP YOU.

Sorry, you’re going to have to list it again from scratch. When eBay removes a listing it is gone for good.

Why did they remove the listing?

Sounds like maybe a hacked buyer account or stolen credit card...? Car sales are not binding on eBay anyway, so nuking the entire listing does seem a little like overkill in this situation, but I don't sell vehicles here so I'm not really an expert on the subject.

Fraudulent purchase of my item.

You listed a vehicle.

You saw a purchase.

EBay cancelled the purchase.

The entire listing has disappeared.
I agree that the "buyer" was likely fraudulent, but it was egregious of eBay to cancel the listing because it attracted a crooked buyer.

You really really really don't want to talk to a live person.

Use the social media.

The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/How-do-I-contact-Customer-Support/m-p/32016431#M1783851 -> Automated Assistant, type AGENT -> enter. You will then get more options.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

A benefit of using Chat rather than talking is that you can calmly give the events leading up to the cancellation.

The (human) rep can read your explanation and has time to research possible answers.

The answer you get will be a calm assessment of your possible actions.

Just because the answer you get is not the answer you want, does not mean it is wrong.

However.

It would take less time to rewrite and repost your listing than to upset your digestion and equanimity by screaming at minimum wage subcontractors in Utah.

I agree with @mtgraves7984.

The mustang was listed twice. Didn't sell the first time, and apparently a scam buyer the second time (listing was removed). Very easy to just relist it from the first listing, or do a sell similar (if you can only relist it once, I don't know).

They also edited my original post here, and put in "**bleep**" for the expressive words I used. I never used any actual bad words, but their system thought I did...

I will have to relist the Mustang from scratch.

As for Facebook- My wife had an account for 17 years, and for 17 years I resisted. But since I'm into vintage cars, and there's so much on FB, I signed up for an account. The minute I signed up, I got suspended for- wait for it- "violating community standards." I never even posted anything, but scammers, criminals, and terrorists get away with it all the time on FB.. I tried their automated appeal process with no luck. I even tried with a different email.. There is no contact at all for FB, and there's no customer service - They don't care about you, because individual "users" are not "customers", and they have 4 billion daily users... YOU, AND YOUR DATA ARE THE PRODUCT that they sell to customers who are advertisers that pay them.. and anything you post on FB- they own.

It's such a brilliant business model (scam) created by zuckerberg.. That's why as of April 2025 his net worth is $217,000,000,000- that's 217 BILLION!

You aren't allowed to use colorful (or "expressive) negative language, even words that might refer to "urine" in past tense.

Tell us your ticked off, very angry, furious, livid..... there are many other adjectives to use to describe how you're feeling.
