First of all, no, it is still not working and is not platform specific. Not one of the many people having the problem have seen an improvement. Not one of the eBay reps conversing with us has indicated that the problem is fixed. None of the listings made in the past two days have consistently working zoom. Maybe actually read the posts and responses before making inane comments.

Second, you are complaining about people complaining? Way to ironically add nothing to the discussion.

No, it is not working.

It works on the desktop on some of my listings.  But not others.

There's speculation it's from using the multi-item listing tool.  It's not, I list everything manually, one-by-one.

There's speculation it's browser related, but it's not.

I speculated it was server / item # related, but it's not.  Whether it's a 4013... item # or a 3620... item#, it sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't.

It's a huge problem.  It prevented me from buying stuff, it will prevent people from buying other peoples' stuff.  eBay is working to fix the problem.  Smiley Wink

eBay is working to fix the problem.

...and if they're looking for the fix on the mobile app (it suddenly occurs to me you might have got this information from eBay), it's not going to be fixed anytime soon.

Siberians,

For most people it started on the evening of August 23rd. If you submitted your listing before that, it will zoom fine. If you have re-listed a listing that originated before August 23rd, it will be fine. It does not seem to be browser or system dependent, though there was one post that said submitting from mobile was OK. Most folks are just waiting to do listings until its fixed. I'm in that category because I sell cameras, and the expectation there is that every little scratch has to be documented.

Lots of posts have in fact been helpful in debugging the problem. Travis, for example, copied the web address of a non-zooming image and hacked the size field to show that eBay has the large images uploaded, but they just aren't being called by the defective listings.

EBay reps have not confirmed or explained the problem on this forum (though users have reported confirmations in phone conversations), so it's not surprising that frustrated sellers are continuing to post.

I have this problem for all new listings. I tried today to "relist" an old unsold item with new photos and descriptions and that did not work.  Looks like I'm shut down from listing any new items on ebay until this problem is fixed as my listings of Antiques require a close up view of each photo to inform the buyer of any old imperfections. It's very frustrating and I don't hold much hope that ebay will actually fix the problem.  I called ebay about it 2 days ago and they told me it was my fault for submitting images of a small size. Not true as all of my pix are of 1200 pixels or larger. Same old run around. Everyone loses with this problem.

I am having the same problems listed here.  I have tried multiple browsers, and multiple accounts, I use a desk top and a laptop, I take my pictures with a camera (same one for last couple of years) and all the sudden (this week) new listing pictures will not zoom. Luckily the older pictures still work.  I sell golf equipment and people are very specific on what they want and need to be able to zoom on the pictures.  Sales have dropped to almost -0-.  Hope Ebay fixes this very soon.

This was a message from Auctiva:

  • The supersized image page is going away but we are currently working on a replacement––so stay tuned.
    • As a result of eBay’s new link policy, we can no longer link to the Auctiva supersized image page. We are looking into a solution to replace this feature, however there will be a period of time where “super size” isn’t available. In the meantime, we will remove all supersized image links for new and already active listings, so that all Auctiva links and features will be 100% compliant with eBay’s link policy.

I wonder if it applies to most all images no matter their source and is not a glitch.  Ebay appears to be doing away with all zoom photos and has not told anyone.

All my new listings today are missing the zoom feature also.  I listed using both Firefox and Google - same thing.  Help eBay!
