I just made my first sell on eBay but I don’t have access to the money.. I shipped product immediately and updated tracking on item.. still saying I have to wait 20... I really needed this money and sold something I hated to let go of. How is this supposed to make me want to keep using eBay😔

I am sorry that you did not take the time to read up on selling and buying here before selling. It is imperative that going forward that you do just that. There are things to take into consideration if your monies are needed immediately when selling on any platform, for that matter. There is a hold on monies with a new seller, and I believe it may be around 20 days. I am sure someone will come along and give you a more precise number.
This is not eBays issue but your responsibility to be informed prior to making any decision, particularly a financial one.
Please hold on and read up. EBay is not for everyone, even those that have read the guidelines that this platform presents. Online sales has its pros and cons. READ READ READ...
Best moving forward,
Grandma

Every new seller is under a 21-Day hold on funds from sales. It's in the Help & Contact pages... read them.
I truly hope for you that the holdup of funds is the only worry with this sale. As a new seller, you've got a target on your back and this listing begged for scammers to come calling. Hopefully, you have a buyer who really does want your item... in this (your first) or any sale. It became emotional because this was something you really loved.
Agreed, this experience would not make me want to keep selling here, unless you're in for the long haul. It's a numbers game and we all learn how to play as we go. Good luck to you, whatever your future holds.

The funds usually will be released automatically after the tracking shows Delivered. .

The eBay delayed payment policies are to keep scam sellers from taking the money and running. eBay knows what they are doing. If eBay does not work for you, you can always try another platform but I would suggest reading up on all the policies first.

If you want to keep selling on eBay, you need to have a float of money for lost items, returns, etc.. Even many seasoned sellers don’t get the idea that money from a particular sale isn’t free and clear for several months.

It is not supposed to make you want to keep using eBay.
eBay buyers have a month or so to return the item to you, so eBay is not designed for people who want to raise quick money and disappear.
eBay wants sellers who are solvent enough to cover returns and refunds.
