Finding the right box

I need a box for a lamp that is 7 1/2 by 7 1/2 by 71 and weight 10 pounds. I know they exist pretty close since it was shipped to me in a box like this years ago. Where can I find a box for it?

Finding the right box

If you have a packing supplies place close they sell a 8" by 8" by 48" long box you can do some box chopping to get it to the 71" long if not wal mart sells a 8 by 8 by 8 boxes and do some box marrying... If you do some chopping or marrying besure and add a extra slice of cardboard at the joints to make it stiffer...

Maybe a sporting goods or ski store would have boxes of those dimensions... or else go to Home Depot and get a cardboard tube (such as for foundation footings). Realistically, though, you might hit oversize charges, or even exceed limits for shipping via one or more carriers, not to mention finding yourself on the hook for a refund if that long monster arrives bent or damaged.

I would make it Local Pickup Only. Unless it's of spectacular collectible value, I can't see many buyers interested in paying the Shipping for a floor lamp when they could just pick one up locally instead.

It doesn't make any sense to ship a lamp.
