Financial statements

Can anyone explain to me on the financial statements what line is actually showing the amount I made that month. There is total minus fees and then at bottom there’s total transactions. Help please!

One way to see some stuff.

I go to the "sellers hub" >

Hover on "'performance">

Click on "sales">

screen opens showing my sales.....    sales tax handed by eBay  ...... fees (selling and labels) .... net

(you can choose the time frame viewed) (month, year, custom) (in my sample, I chose just 1 day)

Scrolling down will show a breakdown  of eBay fees  vs. labels purchased on eBay

(if you purchase shipping elsewhere you will need to get those #'s, as eBay does not have them)

You need to do some math.  This should help.

EBay will never know how much you made.  They do not have information on how much you paid for the items which is a major component.

eBay has no idea how much you made last month, because they do not have all your expense information . They also don't know what you mean by "amount I made" or what you mean by "that month".

Thats where all the receipts that you kept and filed away properly through out the year for the items you purchased to resale come into play. This way when you file your taxes at the end of the tear you then know what your total profit for the year was. Then you can also look at your total profit and see if your last years Ebay adventure was worth it or if its time to go back to work in the 9 to 5 real world. Good Luck and i hope you made more profit then you could have ever imagined for all your hard work last year 🙂

Yes I get they cannot tell me profit/ loss. I’m looking strictly at the financial statements I have printed off. For transactions summary orders total minus fees. If I take that amount and subtract the shipping labels/refunds etc it does not add up to the amount of payout they have. What is transfers on the statement?

The monthly Financial Stmt we can get from Ebay is INCOMPLETE.  It does NOT give you all the information that it should.  It is missing one Key piece of information.  What is your total Selling Fees?  That is a key expense you need but this report does not offer us.  I've brought this to Ebay's attention for close to 3 years now and they still haven't improved this report.

You should go here and download your transaction report.  It will take a little work, but you can get all your information from this information.  However you have to download it into a worksheet program to work with the format.  There is so much information in this report and much you likely don't need.  But all the important stuff is there too.

This tells me everything for the "date range" selected.

I can print it, or download it.

Sellers hub. Review your sales.

I went to the reports. I said for orders, then sold and shipped and then last yr. Asks if I want to download, I click download but nothing appears. I’m using an apple device, but not sure if that should make a difference

I work only on a PC.  Windows 10.

That one always got me for a while. I would click a 2nd, or 3rd time, and scratch my head.

What I have to do is open my "file explored" ,  and then click "downloads" to locate it.

So in the monthly “tax invoice” it has final value fees. This is the amount I paid to EBay correct?

I’m in sellers hub but do not see anything regarding reviewing sales. Can you please give me step by step to get there. This is just crazy work to get info I am looking for. Ugh
