It seems that most buyers still choose not to leave feedback for their items..I'm lucky if I get half to post fb for me..As a seller I have been leaving fb when I ship an item..but now, I wait until the item is delivered and the buyer leaves me fb first..When I view a buyers feedback I always see that a seller has left fb and the buyer hasn't..I've heard many reasons why a buyer doesn't leave fb..from a seller having more than the buyer..and that a seller 'doesn't need' another fb, they have enough already!..I told one buyer that if they start selling, then they will find out how important feedback is for a seller..I currently have many buyers who still don't post fb for me..It should come down to common courtesy!..if nothing else..It's not all that hard people!.

Feedback is voluntary. Neither party has to leave it. Some do, some don't. Courtesy has nothing to do with it. It's just not a thing anymore like it used to be.
You have 6174 feedback. What can you do with one more?
(I was seriously expecting a low feedback newbie for an OP)

No feedback is the new positive feedback. Just how it is.
Personally, I'd much rather get no feedback than an INAD or INR.
Ever seen a product or seller on Amazon that you know has sold in the millions, but only has 50 reviews? Same thing.

Good grief. I'm sure that buyer learned a valuable lesson -- how to avoid unnecessary drama in life by avoiding buying on ebay.

If you push buyers for feedback you may not be happy with the feedback you gets. Seller feedback isn’t even used any more by eBay for seller metrics so why are you so worried about it?

I absolutely hate when a buyer hounds me for feedback. I would rather not get it or give it. I have my store set up to leave feedback after a buyer leaves a positive. I rarely, very rarely buy anything. The more things I have the more I have to dust and dusting and I don't have a good relationship. lol

I am in the same situation my friend.... sometimes just wonder why they won't leave feedback...

If you are worried about your score going up you can always buy some cheap items you need. There is a point of diminishing returns though. As a buyer I am less likely to buy from people with feedback scores greater than 10K when it comes to certain items.

Feedback internet wide is left only about 1/3 of the time. Don't stress it - it has been a long time since internet shopping has been anything of a novelty so people often just don't think about it - even with eBay spamming buyers with 'reminders'.

This is a business transaction and, as such, failing to leave feedback is not an indication of poor manners. Sellers and buyers have a choice to participate or not.
Ebay's feedback system is a hold-over from its origins, and is no longer necessary for the smooth running of the platform. In its early years, feedback played an important role in establishing the members trustworthiness as a trading partner in the community. Now there are policies and programs in place to ferret out substandard participants. To replace it, I would be in favor of some kind of transaction count for members, and phasing out meaningless feedback left for buyers.

Yes!
A transaction count would make much more sense on so many levels. Great idea.

I used to be anxious over a transaction, if a buyer didn't leave feedback... but as some responders have said, no feedback is positive feedback these days. You will still get some trickling in and your total will grow with time. I only give to those who leave it for me now. Hang in there!

I leave feedback when I ship, thanking my buyer and letting them know that their item is on its way. If they leave FB for me, I'm always appreciative, but I see it as a perk rather than a necessity.

Feedback is pretty meaningless once you cross a certain point. As long as it's mostly positive nobody looks at it. If you have a lot of negatives people look at those to see what others are complaining about.
I've been on eBay for 22 years as of June and my seller account only has about a third of the feedback you have. Probably half of that from the last eight years. I get about 150 a year and do considerably more transactions than that. Maybe 1 in 3 to 1 in 5 buyers leaves a comment.
I'm just happy when the ones who have a less than positive experience go away without leaving one.
Also, eBay does occasionally remind buyers to leave feedback, I did get an email reminder from them on one transaction I hadn't taken care of yet.

I agree. I’d say at the very least that feedback only matters until you hit about 50. After that it’s just fluff. My other accounts have low feedback and they sell just fine.
