The feedback system should be abolished, It is an unfair one-sided system that does not accurately portray the customer side, We have 2 choices, we either have to send a positive feedback for every customer no matter the circumstance, or leave no feedback at all, I just got a neutral from a fellow seller, that i all way's ask customers to contact me prior to leaving any feedback if there is any problem, & i think that is a courtesy that should all way's take place, You don't contact then you cannot leave feedback, I state in my store that all my items come from a smoke & pet free home & that is the truth!, Period!, so this wonderful seller/buyer blames me for odor that i had nothing to do with, without ever contacting me, Sellers know how important feedback can be & how hard it can be to maintain, If they have an issue they should extend the courtesy of contacting you., I know it's just a neutral but this type of thing infuriates me!

Weed is a pretty pungent odor, I'm surprised you didn't notice it.

eBay has removed that feedback, so if you believe me or not eBay does & that's who counts!

Absolutely. And not only do people have different sensitivity levels but the brain has a tendency to mix up identification based on memory and associations. -I have a freakishly strong sense of smell, always the first to smell something and usually identify what it is, even exactly WHERE it is. -Twice I have pinpointed the exact location of dead mice, and one of them was behind a wall (I pointed to the exact spot and when we got the panel down, there it was).
But ..... I hate the smell of baby powder, because I swear I can smell POO AND PEE! That's just from my association based on being born in the early 70's when everybody was using baby powder to try to cover the odor coming from the awful diapers they had back then. 🤢

I totally agree it is not fair that they can leave what ever kind of feedback they like, if they are going to keep the feedback they should let us leave NEGs.
the buyers have the upper hand, threating us sellers with neg if we don't deliver the goods in pristine condition and in 1 day mail time.
F That! I'm not kissing any buyers kester. go 2 hell
FEEBAY sucks anyways hasn't been good since the early 2000.

and just in case anyone wants to tell me to just leave the market, I can't, my products wont sell anywhere else but this stupied platform

Ebay feedback
It should be divided into 2 parts--The seller & the product.
The seller can sell a NEW item and get negitive feedback because they are disapointed with the product. That should never happen. And don't get me started on trying to get the unjust feedback removed. Calling Ebay is a waste of time, THEY DO NOT CARE EVEN IF THE FEEDBACK IS WRONG OR A LIE. I always take care of my customers, for 30 days you can return anything to me at my expense and get a full refund. If you do this consistantly for years Ebay should never allow you to get a negitive feedback. Now back to the point of this all, if I got a negitive feedback on a product I would not care that much. But to give me one for a product thats crazy. I can't bend over backwards more for my customers that I do now. There needs to be 2 completely seperate feedbacks. And you must rate the products first, then the seller. Think about the advantage Ebay would gain, no#1 less feedback calls and complaints including losing sellers, no#2 Ebay would have 1 of the best product rating indexing in the country. They could bring new customers to Ebay.
If I was Ebay I would allow product rating changes to be available for 6 months. And sure would help Ebay with less customer service also if they allow changes to be done to sellers personal feedback for 30 days and then feedback revision as they do now.
Think about this Ebay: If all the sellers had positive feedbacks would EBAY make more or less sales? Easy answer of course is more sales, less chance they will buy elsewhere. But EBAY does the exact opposite. They prevent you from giving a bad mark to a buyer NOT the seller. I understand that is a good thing also for making more sales.
I would like to add that I know feedback is a very sore spot for Ebay. It is a near impossible task. You can't make everyone happy. But my idea would make a big difference, and of course the bottom line is always money. Ebay would make more money, less customer service. More customer coming to Ebay for product ratings. Ebay will be the new Consumers Report.
Rating the seller seperate from the product is exactly how it should be. The other way doesn't even make any sense.

I got a neutral rating because eBay's Global Shipping took longer than the buy was expecting! Yeah, real fair to the seller. I requested a revision, but they never responded.

Older thread but reality...
Most buyers are fine and we will never please 100% of the people 100% of the time. Accept this.
We also have to accept selling here and its in favor of the buyer now. You cant, dont sell here. I know this and may have to take a loss. Own it.
Its the nature of the beast selling items. You can even sell at a vendor show, FB, Etsy, Etc and deal with some pissy customer.
