Hi guys,
Had a new one recently. Buyer ordered an item, paid, then subsequently requested cancelation (via eBay's "Request Cancelation" option, not via message). I processed the cancelation and the buyer was refunded. Fast forward a few weeks and this buyer has left a negative feedback.
The negative feedback is **bleep** and I'm pretty sure it's a competitor trying to lower my feedback score, but that point aside - how can someone who ordered than canceled leave ANY feedback to begin with? How can eBay allow them to rate a transaction that, by the customer's own choosing, never took place?
Very frustrating, to say the least.

I 100% agree. If a buyer cancels then feedback should not be allowed. I believe the reason I read here why ebay allows it is because they feel the seller might have done something (changed the listing) to cause the buyer to want to cancel.

Did you have any communication with this buyer through messages? If not call CS and ask them to remove it. How could you have called the buyer stupid if you never communicated with them?

Right - like those sellers who demand extra shipping post sale. I get why it's possible, but if there are zero messages between buyer and seller it shouldn't be.

I agree, feedback should not be allowed to be posted, when a buyer cancels a transaction BEFORE being shipped.

It does qualify for removal.

When a buyer cancels a transaction, they can't leave negative or neutral feedback or low detailed seller ratings for you.

Take your experience one step further - if you think it's a competitor using theoir buying ID to hurt your businees then call e$bay and ask for "Trust and Safety." Ask if the ID has associated IDs that sell items the same or similar to you. Have the rep review the transaction where the buyer requested to cancel the sale and then gave you a negative after you complied with their request. If they do sell unser another ID ask the rep to have both/all IDS rerported for "maslicious interference in your sales."
Far too many unethicial sellers have been using one ID as a buying ID and then using transactions as weapons against other sellers in order to increase their business.

All they tell me is that, feedback doesn't necessarily mean is for the order but the purchase experience and cancellation experience., and that buyers are allows to have their freedom to comment....... I was **bleep**
