Feedback contradicting policy stands?

A buyer purchases a pair of boots and the listing states "seller does not accept returns".

The buyer opens a Return Request indicating that the boots "doesn't fit".

The return request is declined as the buyer purchased the listing with the understanding that the item is not returnable for a remorse reason.

The buyer is unhappy that they agreed to this policy and leaves negative feedback "The boots did not fit.  I'm unhappy that I cannot return them."

eBay states that because the feedback is the buyer's opinion, and therefore it does not contradict the terms of the listing.

Why have policies in listings if there is no support for them?

Have you has a similar experience?  Have you been able to get it resolved?

You might try calling eBay again. This might qualify for removal because the buyer is asking for something that was not included in the listing (returns due to fit).

No such thing as a no returns policy on ebay. Ebay has a money back guarantee for buyers. What that means is ebay will force you to give them their money back if they open a return or not as described case.

Your only option is to work it out with the buyer to revise feedback. Do not offer a refund or return for revised feedback either or it breaks the extortion policy. On the otherhand if the buyer mention in messages to revise feedback for a refund or return you can then use the same extortion policy to remove feedback.

We have spoken with several agents in the Merchant Support Organization...

ALL are saying that the buyer's opinion trumps the contradiction of the stated policy.

In this situation, the buyer requested to return the item for a remorse reason. Therefore, the MBG does not apply.

The buyer didn't open a SNAD--s/he opened a remorse return. According to the original post:

"The buyer opens a Return Request indicating that the boots 'doesn't fit.'"

The feedback extortion policy says that buyer cannot threaten to leave negative feedback in order to get a return.

I'm not sure there is a feedback policy that prevents a buyer from stating they are unhappy about a seller's policies.

This is the chance you take with not authorizing returns. It is their opinion.

Buyer is probably not a seller, and did not notice the 'no returns' as probably 95% of the this site and the world internet sales are returnable.

Buyer is out the $, doesn't want to become a seller to get their money back- you on the other hand can take the return, refund and resell- all part of doing business. After all, the buyer could have opened 'not as described' which would have forced a return and you paying the return shipping.

And the buyer could still return the boots if s/he decides to get PayPal involved.

You've got bigger problems than just one guy unhappy that he can't return their boots.
