Feedback and EBay policies.

Why does EBay not allow sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers? Seems one sided and completely unfair.

Feedback and EBay policies.

In the early days, the eBay community used feedback to establish one’s merit as a trading partner. But it eventually became a free-for-all for the unscrupulous, those who would use negative feedback in retaliation for an honestly-left poor rating. So eBay changed the rating system years ago. Feedback is not the place to punish buyers or warn sellers.

Two sides to every story.

Eaby takes the buyer's side.

Every time.

It is completely one sided, and unfair.

Feedback is and always was one sided. It allows for a grading system for sellers, and it allows buyers to be thanked for paying.

eBay is one of the only sites that allows feedback of any kind for buyers. Maybe even the only site.

Buyers were leaving eBay and taking their money with them or they stopped buying  because of retaliatory feedback. That's why they changed the policy.

Because ebay is completely rating the sellers. They believe the logic that if the seller is the hotel and the buyer is the cx. It is improper for the seller to rate the buyer negative. However ebay is aware that buyer may abuse feedback. Ebay has feedback abuse policy. In the event that ebay confirms that the buyer is abusing the system. They can get restricted or worse suspended depending on the gravity of the offense . Thats why reporting a buyer is allowed.
