FeeBay Scamming is rampant

Who would have thought eBay would let AI ruin their platform? Looks like they have lost control completely....except where does all this money go? FTC "looking into it".

"... where does all this money go?"

EBay is a for profit business, not a public utility or charity.  They have stockholders, employees and running expenses.   They would be defunct by now if they didn't do all in their power to turn a profit.  I'm grateful for the opportunity they provide.

Can you give more details of this issue?

I wouldn't say AI ruins their platform, more like the usual mismanagement, various departments not in sync. eBay has been known to have a lot of toxic departments, which reflect some current issues we see, as well as decisions made from the top.

I've also heard the FTC is "looking into" the illegal trade in unicorn horns.

I GET IT!

"feebay" is a slang for ebay because ebay charges fees.

Very clever.

Do you have another selling account or did you screw up your first order?

Welcome to the community! My advice if you think the fees are too high? Make sure that your products are priced right to absorb the fees and make yourself a tidy profit.

Good luck to you.

Meh, Sometimes AI helps. Just listed some curtains without adding a shipping charge and AI was like 9.00 extra. It must have been like Don't Undercut yourself, Bro

Who would have thought eBay would let AI ruin their platform?

The platform works fine for me.

Looks like they have lost control completely

What specifically have they "lost control" of "completely"?

except where does all this money go?

What money are you referring to? In my case, a buyer's payment goes to several places:

  • The sales tax collected goes to the state in question
  • The eBay fees are calculated based on the fee schedule and go to eBay
  • The money for the shipping label I purchased goes to the USPS
  • The remainder goes to my bank account weekly, because I set it up that way

FTC "looking into it".

What exactly is the FTC "looking into" and who told you that?

The AI ebay has employed is poor.  It rejects/shoots down almost every problem a seller idetifies.  Then the seller appeals, and the appeals AI re-rejects the appeal.

They use the ai as an excuse not to review problems and just turn them down.  Then if you request a call from a cust svc person, cust svc folks say we cant do anything about it, its the ai system.

The problem is that are rejecting problems where the seller has valid issues, ie buyer violarions of policies, evidence of buyer fraud, clear blatant violations of fb policies the ai will not recognize as violations, and then you send your appeal to an AI who doesnt look at anything, but is programmed to reject seller issues.

Taking people out of the problem reviews is the problem.  Humans can see the violations and the fraud.  The AI cannot, or if it does, still is programmed to reject seller issues.
