The posted link says:
"259,000 searches for guitars on eBay every day"
I didn't realize that many people were researching guitar prices on eBay before selling them on C's list 🙂

LOL! It would be nice if the "see more" link from ebay actually provided details about the new fees....
Works for me. Looks like they created a new FVF subcategory for Stores. The new rate also shows up in the FVF section on the regular Help page about Store fees.

But how many will be sold thru the GSP, and then rejected because they won't ship them?

*Get the trending price for you qualifying guitar, or get the difference in a coupon. $350 max fee.
Trending price is probably a lot less than most sellers want to get, judging by trending prices when eBay was pushing sales of iphones.
Does that mean the guitar has to be listed for trending price?

This is great news! I sell guitars, and this fee reduction is fantastic. I was just about to give up on ebay, but this news has definitely lifted my spirits. This fee reduction is obviously to show Reverb who's boss...I like them too, but ebay still gets the most exposure.

This is about to save me $900 a month, conceivably.
Right when I was about to start pulling out, Ebay the betch pulls me back in...
When does this take effect? I'm trying to find a date.
Reverb breached contract with me, awful CSRs and mindless, weird actions. Ebay is bad but Reverb, they screwed me big time.

They're looking to crush Reverb.

The promo page says "3.5% is here" and it's already in the basic help page about fees, which implies that it went into effect immediately.

That's a really attractive, well-organized site!
But...buyers will choose eBay over the Direct Checkout nonsense (in which the site "works with" the buyer and seller to work out an issue) and for eBay's MBG. A site that caters to sellers doesn't last long...check out etsy if you doubt that!
I believe there is also no PayPal buyer protection through the Direct Checkout schemes...I'm about 100% certain of that. So how many stupid musical instrument buyers do you think are going to buy under those terms?
