Just a heads up everyone - the category changes announced in the Fall Update that were supposed to be effective on October 24 have been pushed out to early 2024!
There was an announcement made today in the UK boards.

And while they haven't posted one here yet, the US category page now has a banner with that information.

Not sure why they waited until after the effective date passed but I know many sellers have not been happy with category changes happening in Q4 before so....maybe they finally listened!

For the first time ever, eBay listened to sellers and postponed category changes from Oct to post-holiday?! I'm having trouble believing it.
Then again, pretty much the only categories affected were P&A and they're currently suffering with the removal of "sell one like this".

@wastingtime101 I'm shocked too! They were relatively minor changes like you said but I'll take what we can get and will happily put this one on the Christmas miracle list. 😂
Now if they would just bring back that Sell One Like This button, it would be a truly magical holiday Q4 indeed.

I'll be following with interest to see how this goes. In the past they'd do category changes in Oct then give you until sometime in Jan to complete required IS as a result of the change.
Pushing this out to Jan (or whenever in 'early 2024') I'd like to think they'll give sellers a minimum of 60 days to get required IS updated before their listings stop renewing. If that happens, and if eBay maintains the post-holiday schedule next year, I'll count this as a great (and needed) change.
Sellers won't have to deal with the inevitable search issues resulting from category changes when we're already into Q4. Of course the existing search issues are a whole other matter. What's that magic number of filtered results when buyers think they're sorting price low to high - 160?
