Hi everyone. I want to know, how is it possible, for example seller has 10+ listings pages, 300+ items and every item shows that they being sold 1000+ 2000+ 3000+ times. BUT seller has only ~1500 feedback and sold items have only few feedback, for example, seller sold 3000+ items and got only 10 feedback for that item. So my question is, how they do this and is it legal to top up these probably fake sellers?

Feedback is voluntary could be that sellers buyers just didn't bother with feedback.

That is possible, but seller "sells" tons of items and get only 0.1% feedback. I can not believe.

I'm not that big a seller, but I have an item that I have sold 127 of. eBay displays that fact.
I have probably gotten 2-3 feed backs on those 127. Never a return. Never a complaint.
In my selling categories, most buyers do not leave feed back.
Also while the "sold" # remains displayed I do believe that the "feedback" # displayed for the item may fade away over time.

And if you click on number of sold items, it only shows few of them. This is very interesting, if it impossible to show all sold items dates and buyers names with mask, if they are really sold. And i saw same items, for example some pills, sold by 5 different sellers with same history )))

Yes, you get 3 feedback for 127 items, but i ask about 15000 sold items with 7 feedback.

The reason for that is ebay only shows 90 days worth of sales. Many of the sales could be an accumulation over a few years. One listing can have thousands of sales but all you can see is the past 90 days.
But seriously ..why are you so concerned about this?

If a customer purchases a quantity of 100 that will only be 1 feedback (if they bother to leave it and most don't.)
Most people don't want to bother with feedback and reviews anymore especially now that many do all their shopping online.

If this person is selling commodities (which you can get anywhere), it's unlikely that people are going to leave much feedback - it's just a sell/buy transaction to them, and unless there's a problem, the seller probably never hears from them again.

I know about 90 days policy, but also if you enter sellers page, you can see "Feedback from the last 12 months". So seller sold ~30000 items and when i check sold items on each listing, i see 90 days not yet passed, because if you click on "sold items" you can check all recent purchases that was in last 30-60 days. Also seller put same items in auction, and no one even bid on them. So are you seriously think that popular items with this high rate doesn't even get a single bid.

Also many people refrain from leaving feedback because they have the misconception that it will prevent them from returning if something goes wrong with it. Very common with things like electronics.
There would no benefit from "faking" sales anyway. Would most likely be recognized as fraudulent activity by the system.

I'm with @ebooksdiva -- why are you concerned about this?

If they were faking sales why wouldn't they leave feedback too?

So, is it your thought that the seller has a way to get into the eBay system to get "false", "# of items sold", displayed?

Can seller sell for example phone cases and then change listing to another item, will sold items counter be reset then.
