I had a false SNAD in late August and ebay closed the case in my favor. In that message ebay stated "it will not affect your seller performance."
However, false snads ARE included (even if closed in the seller's favor) in the percentage determining higher FVFs in the new metrics benchmark system.
I am at 1.02%.
Called CS and was told any and all SNADs will be included and cannot be removed.
Just thought I'd share that info.

Oh that's nice 😞

@resalerackrebel So what's the magic % rate that kicks Sellers to the higher FVF bracket? Sad they allow a metric that people can lie about affect Sellers ... poor Business Model 101

You can see on this page, usually it's around 2% when you hit "Very High":
https://www.ebay.com/sh/prf/service-metrics
The percentage seems to vary, even in the same category. However ebay calculates it, it is clearly bugged, as in some categories it is impossibly low, while in others it tells you that you have no peers.

Yes, the metrics for SNADs that Ebay is measuring us against now is for any SNAD request that gets opened no matter the outcome. Even if a buyer opened it and then decided they wanted to close it seconds later. It would still count against you. They haven't hidden this fact from us.

I'm still not convinced they will be able to get the "peers" right.

Yes, I've known this since they announced that 4% FVF penalty poppycock. I called and asked the CS too and they said the same thing. The funny thing is that the agent said something like "If we removed false SNAD instances for you, then we'd have to do it for everyone." Which actually sounds like a PERFECT solution to me. He continued to say "Don't worry though, we're going to keep all the false SNADs for all other sellers too so relatively speaking you'll be in the same ranking as if we removed it for everyone."
I replied, but yea... the only difference is that you'll be incorrectly charging everyone an extra 4% FVF for no real reason then huh. Why not just cut out the middle man and tell everyone FVFs are going up 4% site wide??

But, how will anybody - other than ebay/or even ebay - KNOW if they got the 'peers' right? Or, if there were any? Or, their definition of 'peers'? Or, if .....

If they are going to base the peers on the categories then they have to get the listings in the categories right. I'm still seeing "stuff" going into Magazine Back Issues that have no business being in there. It isn't as bad as it was but it is still happening.
And I don't want my "magazine back issues peers" to be those people who are abusing Media Mail either so again, I don't think eBay can get the peers right and it will result in a bad experience for sellers.

Unfortunately, I believe that ebay has their 'average' definition of what a 'peer' is - and by which they will judge others - while everything else will fall under a 'cost of doing business' heading. What is worse, I don't think their definition of average will vary, or account for different specifics all that much, category to category.

I'm sure eBay is splitting hairs and arguing that "penalty fees" and "seller performance rating" are technically not the same thing 🙂

Well, of course they are not the same thing - one is cause and the other is result.

The CS Rep wouldn't, or couldn't, give me that percentage. She just kept saying "you only have the 1 SNAD so the percentage is so low it isn't really counting against you." My reply was "I've only sold 98 items in 90 days so that 1 SNAD counts ALOT." Round & round it went... Very disheartening.
