If I have an item that I offer free shipping (shipping cost added to the cost of the item), and then I print up a label, aren't I paying a FVF for the shipping twice? Once because I added shipping to the item price, which inflated the item price. And twice when I buy a shipping label.

@dandvantecues
If you offer free shipping, there won't be any FVF on the shipping.
No, you don't pay a FVF when you buy a shipping label.

No.
FVF is assessed on the total amount the buyer pays. It doesn't matter if it's a "free" shipping i.e. shipping included item or an item with buyer paid shipping.
There is no fee to print a label.

No, "Free Shipping" simply means that you have no separate Shipping charge to the buyer; you're eating the Shipping cost yourself (presumably out of the funds from the sale).
The Final Value Fee is calculated from the buyer's total payment, and that's all. What you do with any or all of the funds later doesn't matter. Your purchase of the Shipping label does not generate another FVF.

Look, free shipping is not free. What are thinking with that statement. The Seller is paying shipping and fees on that shipping due to the cost of shipping is in the cost of the item sold. We pay we always pay.

1. FVF and payment fees are applied when the buyer pays.
2. Done.

IN MP there is ONE fee for everything plus a 30 cent transaction fee.
There is also no reason MP should be nearly bankrupting you as the fees are not an increase over what you were paying prior to MP unless you were in PP's micropayments program.
If you are having this serious of issues, try to be more specific and maybe some of us can help you.

I think you completely misunderstood what they were saying. Sellers know to roll the costs into their product price. And I think sellers know they are paying for shipping costs. The OP and Ken were talking about the FVF on shipping charges as a separate fee. So I just think you misunderstood.

Just to clarify that a bit. FVFs on the product is charged at the time of the sale. If separate shipping charges are stated on the listing, the FVF for shipping is charged at the time the buyer pays for the shipping portion of the purchase.
