I know that ebay fees for most things are 10% (and there is an extra charge from Paypal if we use it). I have been using Paypal for years and I always calculated the 10% in the final price, whenever I wanted to sell something.
Last month, I sold an accessory for a camera at 49 USD. These day I got an invoice for ebay fees for 31 USD!!! That is more than 60% of the value!!! And it is automated, so I don't know what to do...
At some point, another order was finalized (about 150 USD), but it was cancelled and I issued a full refund through paypal. Could that be that they also included this value, although I refunded it???

eBay has been charging Final Value Fees on the total payment amount for several years. I think it was since either 2008 or 2011, but it has been a long time, anyway.
To cancel the transaction, try this. You should be able to pick the item number from the list:
https://ocsnext.ebay.com/ocs/cusr?query=1622&levelHierarchy=2a3a3Here's some information that might help you for 'Cancel a sale'There is a "Cancel a sale" button which leads to this page:If an item you’ve sold is lost, broken, or out of stock, or the buyer requests a cancelation, you can cancel the order and issue a refund to the buyer.
Orders can be canceled up to 30 days after the item is sold. Once the refund is successful and the cancelation is complete, you'll receive a final value fee credit.
If the buyer paid using PayPal, their refund will be issued automatically. Once they receive their refund we consider the cancelation complete. If they didn't use PayPal, please issue their refund manually within 10 days. The buyer will need to confirm that they've received their refund in order to complete the cancelation
You can’t cancel an order if there are any open requests or cases for the item, or if you’ve already shipped it to the buyer.

If you did not go through the refund procedure, you will not be reimbursed for your FVF's.
Why did yiou cancel and refund through Paypal
Your invoice will tell you what you got charged for.

Yes, if you didn't cancel the transaction on eBay, then you would not get the Final Value Fee credited back to your account. You have up to 30 days to start the cancellation, so you can still do that and get the fee credit (about $22-23).
In addition to that, because you are a private seller registered in Greece, eBay is required by law in EU to charge VAT on the services they provide to you, so that is an additional 24% that has to be charged on the seller fees, which brings the FVF up to 12.4%. I calculated the fees based on the shipping costs shown to a buyer in the USA, they may have been a bit different depending on where your buyers were located.
Date sold: 27-May 22-May
Item: $ 49.00 $ 159.00
shipping: $ 25.00 $ 25.00
total payment: $ 74.00 $ 184.00
eBay FVF: 10.0%
VAT (Greece): 24.0%
total fees: 12.4% $ 9.18 $ 22.82 = $ 31.99 total fees

If you view the invoice online on eBay, you have the option to see every individual charge that makes up that $31 invoice.
The invoice detail will show the date, amount, and type of each charge, along with the item that it applies to.
I know that ebay fees for most things are 10%
The Final Value fee for the item price is only one of many possible eBay charges. There are listing fees, listing upgrade fees (reserve price, etc.), store subscriptions, item final value fees, and shipping final value fees.

I just wanted to try and see if I could make that table a bit clearer, sans HTML.
| Date sold: | | 27-May | 22-May |
| Item: | | $ 49.00 | $ 159.00 |
| shipping: | | $ 25.00 | $ 25.00 |
| total payment: | | $ 74.00 | $ 184.00 |
| eBay FVF: | 10.0% |
| VAT (Greece): | 24.0% | |
| total fees: | 12.4% | $ 9.18 | $ 22.82 | = $ 31.99 total fees |
ETA: OK, not perfect, but not too bad. Better, I think.

How's this. Don't know if it's better without the underscores or not. This looks better to me.

Thank you very much for all detailed info! So, the issue was the second item that was cancelled in the end.
I am afraid that that transaction was accidentally deleted from the selling history, so now how can I say that this item was never sold, but I actually refunded the person who ordered it through PayPal?
P.S. As far as I remember, ebay fees were only for the item's price, not the shipping costs (in contrast to PayPal), but now I see on the table that shipping costs are also charged!

So, how can I prove the full refund through ebay now?

Thank you very much for the useful links and info! I found the item, but just before I cancel the order, I have one last question. Since I have already refunded him through PayPal, will ebay "refund" this person again? In this case, I have to ask from him to send me manually the money of the 2nd refund back...

Call eBay on the phone and demand your credit if you never got it.

Yes, that started quite awhile ago. Instead of raising the fees on selling the items, eBay kept those fees pretty much the same (I think maybe they even lowered them a bit at the time.. can't quite remember) so instead of raising selling fees, they altered what they figured it ON... and started charging the fee on shipping charges as well. So, they now charge on the amount the buyer spends. For many, it works out pretty good if the fee on goods sold isn't raised any, because they don't sell heavy-to-ship items, but it made selling heavy but still inexpensive items here on eBay an exercise in futility. Fees ate up too much.

No, eBay won't refund them again, as long as you did the refund correctly from the PayPal transaction. That ties the two transactions (payment and refund) together, and eBay can access the information from PayPal and know that you have alredy refunded.
If you didn't refund correctly, if you used the "Send money" tab instead, then you will need to contact eBay customer service and provide them with the proof that you sent the money back, because they can't see it automatically if the two transactions aren't linked in PayPal.

Thank you very much!!! It seems it worked out! I got an email from ebay, that the buyer is already refunded, so there is no problem on this and the final value fee will be updated!
Thank you again!!!

@papagr-n898kc, you're welcome, and I'm really glad this worked out for you!
Also, thanks very much for coming back and letting us know how it all turned out. It's good to hear that everything was resolved in a good way!
