Hey all, I am curious on the criteria that qualifies an account to increase selling limits. Small sample size, but I've ran into 2 people who have accounts, created in the last month with low feedback scores, who have selling limit caps of 22k. Meanwhile my account that I've used for about a decade at this point has been stuck at 500 for years. I've gone through the customer support channel for increases in the past couple of months but I have been rejected every time.

Hi-
You're going to have to accumulate a few more sales before ebay will raise your limits. You've only had one that I can see and one listing. Ebay limits new sellers to make sure your focus is to be a trusted and honest seller and to protect all buyers. Prior to the one you sold on the 24th, you haven't sold any thing in over a year, so you are viewed as a new seller if you have no sales in over 90 days. One more thing, you may want to be careful selling high dollar items right off the bat. Ebay watches new sellers who start out selling high end items, especially electronics. After you've had some more sales, you can ask Ebay to raise your limits every 30 days.
I wish you well and Happy Selling!

Thanks for the info but if I just create a new account will I also be able to start with a large selling limit so I can start moving item(s)? Instead of having to wait for this period of validation, I could just make burner accounts to move big items and ditch them.

If you start a new account you will have limits as well. Not to mention what ever you do sell the money will be on hold for 30 days. Lots of changes on Ebay since you registered. Me too.
I still wish you well and again, happy sales!
