Edit Variations Page Wont Load

Recently in the last week Ive been able to create new listings with variations.

In the last 2 days when I pick an active item and choose "sell similair" to create a new listing, as well as when creating a new listing from scratch...When I click the "edit" button for variations, in either case Im brought to a blank white page that lasts for about a minute until I get an error message with something to the effect of "ooops, something went wrong". Other times that error page shows up instantly. Everytime I try this it creates a new listing draft. Quite frustrating that I cannot  access this feature. Ive tried it both from my desktop using Google Chrome as well as from an iPad using Safari. Ebay Customer Service wasnt able to help although they did file a report and send it to the "tech team". In my experience thats a nice way of saying we dont really care to figure this out and since youre not a mega millions power seller...youre on your own. Any help or ideas!?

I have no issues with variation on the few variation listings I have, but they are not in the Sports Cards category.

From various threads in the community forums, it appears it is a known* eBay issue for variations in that category (are there other card categories?) that has started very recently, and it is unclear exactly what the problem is - whether something is just broken, eBay has changed something, or if option for variation listings in that category is being removed.


Only workaround I'm aware of is the following from the last post in

"Fix I find that works is to change you category to
  fan shop> fan apparel & souvenirs>which sport you want
and then you can edit variations. After you are done go back and change the
category back to where you had it before and it will stay the way you revised it."

*known issue to eBay CS according to some posters, but that usually means nothing as evidenced by statements by other posters saying CS "knows nothing about it"  So to get it on the radar.....  @Anonymous

Just got a confirmation from another seller having problems with editing variations in a Sports Cards category that changing the category worked.
