Ebay won’t let me end some of my listings

I have had some auction listings that aren’t selling so I want to end and relist as buy it now with much lower prices in an effort to get rid of them. I haven’t had any problems doing this in the past, but I am currently unable to end some of my listings via either the app or the desktop website.. When I try on the desktop version, I get a popup that says the cancellation failed, but it doesn’t give a reason.

Even weirder, I have been able to end some of my other auction style listings, but everytime I end one, I get a message from ebay immediately afterwards telling me that the bid I entered for the item has been cancelled. None of these items ever had any bids, and obviously I’m not bidding on my own items. What is going on? Is this some temporary glitch?

Glitch to the new updates is most likly the cause...first time I have read of this one.

The auctions ending within 12 hours cannot be ended.

Auctions with bids cannot be ended without cancelling all bids - and unless it's your first one of the year, you will be charged a FVF if you cancel the bids and end them.

Are there bids or offers on the items @astral_stardust ? That would be the only reason why you get any kind of block. Otherwise it would be best to reach out to CS to see what's going on. 🙂

The bid cancellation notices you are getting after ending your auctions that don't have bids are just shrapnel from the Great eBay Train Wreck of Oct. 2021. They are nonsense and to be disregarded.

We are in Florida and the listings are in our storm damaged home in NC

This thread is over 3 years old and I don't believe Jasmen still works for eBay.

You also simply need to go to your Active Listings and end your listings from there, or turn on Time Away if you think you'll be able to redo that in 30 days or be ready to sell again by then.

I am so sorry to hear you were affected by the horrific storms.  I sincerely hope you and your loved ones are OK.

Oh that is a no no on Ebay.  The location in your listing is suppose to ALWAYS be the location in which the item will ship from.  So in the future be careful as this is a violation if caught doing that.

• A tracking number uploaded after an item has sold must match the shipping location provided in the listing.

Closing listings is simple.  Go to your Seller Hub, then Active Listings.  From the list of your active listings there is a menu under the down arrow on the left.  One of the options will be to End Listing.  Select that.

I think they were simply saying that they've relocated to Florida because of the storm, not that they live in Florida regularly and were selling things with the location misrepresented...
