Hopefully someone reads this. If you are a seller then Ebay will not verify credit union checking accounts. So, when you sell something, you can't get your money if you are with a credit union. I have spent a combined 4 hours with customer service across three weeks and Ebay refuses to verify my credit union checking account or explain why they won't verify it, and says that to receive the $640 I got from sales I will need to open a bank account with a "reputable" bank. Ebay is filled with thieves and their customer service is worthless. They are all a bunch of bums. Were it not for monopoly Ebay would be in the dust bin where they belong.

Oh my gosh - lots of companies use Facebook and twitter for CS - Nike, Starbucks…

Well, let's see... in the past two years I've contacted GrubHub, Discord, Eventbrite and a small coffee company via Facebook. Got great customer service every time.

@craigstevensstudio You are sadly mistaken. Ebay does allow sellers to use credit unions. The OP must be using a local credit union that does not meet federal standards for money transfers.

Do eBay require a blank check before they establish your Payment's Account? With a blank check they should be able to tell you exactly what the problem is such as the Routing Number is incompatible with their money processing system. At least you would have a straight answer and know what needs to be corrected.

Very Possible as is the scenario that the OP isn’t using the correct routing numbers.
The quickest fix is to talk to their credit union and see which one it is it is.

I also use a credit union, AlaskaUSA. They are constantly changing stuff. And about every 6 months or so I have to reverify. ( I have been to lazy to change it. Have to change credit cards and other stuff, sound like a really hassel)

Just open an account in a normal bank

I just virtually had my Credit Union on with EBay rep and no can do! eBay says they cannot set up with a credit union because the accounts are blocked from their view and the credit union say we don’t know what you’re talking about. This is the bottom line of my two hours experience with eBay and my credit union.

@eski428 Afraid talking to ebay is little help, you would need to talk to the actual payment processor ebay contracts with, which is Adyen.
While it appears some credit unions do not play nice with Adyen, most do. It also is not clear who is at fault, but credit unions do work a little different, so would tend to think it is on their side.
Does your credit union actually have a separate ACH routing number or are you using an ABA routing number that start with 00 to 12?

Of course they can set up with a credit union, at least generally speaking. They've been dealing with mine for a couple of years now. Apparently there is some kind of snag with your particular credit union.
Exactly which credit union are you trying to use, and what Routing number have you been given? (Note that I'm not asking for your account number, just the name of the credit union. The Routing number is its public ACH identifier, which is often shown on the corporate website.)

Me too...I use a credit union.

That’s not true, I use a credit union.

Then why have I just spent 3 hours trying to log into my bank account on ebay and it won't let me?
