I'm a collector who is getting out of collecting and selling my collection. I have roughly 500 items to sell. Should I use ebay store or use private non store method?

"Hot Wheels" can be considered a tangible asset. You do not need to be a business. You are an investor in "Hot Wheels" which is no different than holding stocks, bonds, real estate, and so on. Hopefully you have all your receipts. Depending on your finances and the value of your collection, you might want to consult a CPA or Tax Attorney.

Compare what the final value fee rate would be in your category if you sign up for a Basic-level store subscription versus the non-store rate. Then figure out whether that lower FVF would save you $28 per month in final value fees. A Store subscription also comes with some tools for promotion and for managing your listings.
