Ebay shipping charges come late or is this a scam from ebay ?

While back i started getting emails saying "There was a charge to your account"
Why does it take eBay so long to charge me for shipping ?
is this a new thing where they wait till X day and charge all at once ?

Fedex and UPs charge for the label after delivery, USPS charges for the label when you print it.

Did you ship in a "flat rate USPS  box" as stated in the listing without a "flat rate" label.?

Did you use a "flat rate" label on a box that was not a USPS "flat rate" box?

Either of those things could cause an after the fact charge when the USPS APV set up detects an error (and sometimes charges in error)

The problem with default weekly bank transfers is that there may be last minute charges for shipping labels that come in after the transfer, or monthly Store Subscription fees.

Which is another reason why it is better to have a bank account that is only for online payments rather than having Managed Payment transfers that affect your household account.

USPS labels are charged immediately, if you get a subsequent charge on those it's usually because your inputted values for weight and dimensions don't match what the USPS scanners are seeing (yes the machines make errors but it's VERY rare).

Even free USPS boxes can only be used for the intended service, you can't use a Priority box for Parcel Select/First Class Package/Ground Advantage.

i always change shipping from USPS to Fedex or what ever is cheaper because only then i can see how much it will cost to ship.
When i create a listing, that option is not as easy to understand so i just leave it as "free shipping"
