I've been selling on ebay for over 15 years. Always ship out stuff on time. I sold an item over the weekend. I have until tomorrow to ship it. So today in my message I get this straight from ebay:

Ship your item by 08 January 2019
Hello brandonsvsu,
It’s time to pack up your item and ship it out!
On 05 January 2019, xxxxxx purchased xxxxxxxxx.
Be sure to ship the item to xxxxxxxxxxx, then mark the item as shipped and add tracking details by your handling date, 08 January 2019. If you use an eBay label, tracking will be automatically uploaded.
When you ship on time and add tracking details, you’re more likely to get great feedback from your buyer. This can help you maintain a good seller status and sell more items.
Thanks for shipping your item by 08 January 2019.
Thanks,
eBay

It reads like a pretty straightforward and benign automated message to me.

Given the number of times I've seen posts by sellers who either can't find the ship by date in the Hub or can't calculate the proper ship by date if it involves a non-business day or don't understand that eBay works on Pacific time these messages could be helpful.
Even if you don't need them, they hardly achieve the status of "pestering"!

I agree with the others that this is a bot, or automatic message.
They also thanked you for shipping by Jan 8!

I never used to get so many of these things, but lately the flood gates opened.
They even forced BO on my listings. All last year they didn't do that. I went to look and all my opt in / outs had been factory reset.......
I also noticed that all my new listings are good til cancelled......
eBay, you're gonna be the death of me unless I can quit ya!

Don' t for get those who don't realise there is a requirement on the ship dateat all, and those who do not know to enter the tracking number or even get a tracking number. OP, if you are going to continue to use this site no need to take messages so personal.

Ebay only sends one message reminding a seller to ship their item.

I agree, but I think the OP only got one. Though if he'd sold and been paid for 20 items from 20 buyrs, he'd probably have got 20 all right. (or she)

Are you feeling pestered by the exclamation point at the end of the ship it out sentence?
Ship it out now, OR ELSE!!!

Well, if you find those messages so irritating, you can always delete them. Not a good idea though.

Well, I rather agree with the OP. He/she has been selling for over 15 years now and if they didn't know when to ship, they would, most likely, no longer be selling.
I realize that these messages are automatic, but one whould think that E-bay could reserve them for new sellers who may not know just what is expected of them.
Automatic or not, they are still rather ridiculous to send out to established sellers.
COYOTES RULE!!!
