In the last 3 weeks I had over 5 items that were relisted by ebay.. I even had an item that sold over two years ago relisted.. What is going on??? I had to explain myself to the customers, sometimes they don`t believe you and give you a bad rating... on top of that one has to refund the buyer and I`m not even sure if ebay keeps the transaction fee?? If anyone one can shed some light on this issue it will be appreciated..

I had to explain several of these a few years ago. I started deleting the listings from the sold list when the quantity reached zero and it solved the problem. At least I hope it has.

This has been happening for almost two decades. It's happened to me a dozen or so times over the years.
Items that have sold years prior will suddenly appear for sale. I sell one-offs, so it's not a quantity or out of stock issue.
So far, I've been able to catch them before they sell, but the more listings I have up the harder that is to do.
Ebay knows. They do nothing about it. They don't care. Sellers are left to deal with the cancellation defects.

This has been going on for years, but Ebay doesn't think it's a problem on their end.

If you cancel sale and use reason "address is bad" you will get fees refunded and you don't have to worry about getting "defect" for cancelling transaction.

I am having this same issue
Items that sold already, months, even a year ago. Items that were "Good Till Cancelled" but remained at 0 quantity (which I wanted to keep incase I got back in stock again I could re-use the listing). But eBay is randomly adding them back in stock. It only happens to certain listings.
The item i sold a year ago has almost doubled in price, there's no way that has been sitting in-stock at the current price for a year.
ebay's customer service is awful I might as well be telling my dog about this issue than whoever works their chat, they don't understand anything.
Worst of all, this has happened to me about 4 times now and I had to cancel the sale and now ebay hit me with enough defects I'm getting higher fees. Seems seriously messed up and something that will result in a class-action-lawsuit.
