Ebay international shipping, does it work?

Does anyone use "ebay international shipping"? I have been automatically enrolled, and I don't no if that is good. I have intentionally limited my listings to us only to limit stress and to keep shipping as simple as possible. Does anyone with experience using this program have any suggestions? Is really as simple as they claim? Is the "international selling hub" good at being fast and careful with your package? Are there particular country's you still need to limit? PLEASE HELP!?!?!?!

It is in your best interest to actually Read the policy page instead of making assumption about a program you are not familiar with.

EIS is a great program. I encourage you to read about it and decide for yourself if it will work for you. It takes almost all the risk for international shipping off the sellers.

Feel free to come back and ask for advice on what to do.

"with the downside of speed and cost to the buyer, Is that correct?"

I don't know how the cost is calculated with the eIS, but the old version (the Global Shipping Program) actually offered cheaper shipping to buyers than usps costs for higher weights.   I suspect the eIS isn't much different in that regard though.  Also one thing people often forget is that the higher shipping cost includes a robust insurance.

We've had opposite experiences using EIS, the difference is I can substantiate my reasons why with proof, from both my posting history here and my transparent eBay selling account, whereas you can not.

Well I said that too.  I gave you my personal opinion and the link to the policy which clearly states the fantastic benefits of using it.  It is a terrific policy and has really helped many sellers to ship worldwide.

It works, but eBay, over the last 3 years, has jacked the prices up so much that its a turn off for most buyers.  Yes, it gives sellers peace of mind, but we should be more concerned with giving buyers peace of mind

The service is frustratingly slow, really slow.  If you have ebay International Shipping (EIS) mixed with other international shipping, eBay will only show EIS prices to buyers.  Also, if you turn on the option to "allow eBay to show your items to locations currently excluded', the systems prohibits sending invoices, regardless of EIS or not.

Save your buyers $10-$25 in shipping fees, insure @$1/$100 and use pirateship, they'll thank you later (repeat buyers).

Not sure what you are talking about (as usual).

I get international orders all the time.   Folks overseas (especially in Europe and Asia, in my experience) are a lot less afraid of spending money than American cheapskate buyers.

All my orders get delivered on time and the customers are thrilled.   The service is not slow at all.

And the best part about it is that I am completely insulated from risk and negative feedback.

Why in heaven's name would anyone NOT use eIS if it's available to them?

What do you sell? I think its good for some items/prices not other.

I've noticed a significant slow down as well. Not only compared to the pre global shipping days, but also the years since it first rolled out. In addition to high prices, i feel like that long period of time where you couldnt combine shipping turned off a lot of buyers.

But with EIS, if there are delays, it is for Ebay to handle, not you.  Once the package is accepted at the Ebay Hub, then the seller's responsibilities end at that point.

As for this policy turning off buyers, IDK about that.  I haven't seen stats saying this is negatively impacting a good chunk of buyers.

As with any new program.  It usually improves over time.  When EIS started, you are correct that it did not allow for combined shipping.  It does now and it didn't take them a long time to get this in place.  It didn't take them a long time to get this upgrade active for the program either.

As I said, it is dependent on what is being sold. It will work for some but not others.

What stats have you seen that it is a positive effect?

By short "period of time" I take it you are pretending "Global Shipping" didn't exist?

As will any tool Ebay offers.  There is no way to create a tool or a rule that EVERYONE will like or want.  It simply isn't possible.

You answer a question with a question?  That isn't helpful.  But I'll answer the one you posed to me, I have not seen any stats, but going by the praise seen on the threads, it is clear that the sellers that have chosen to use it are very happy with it.  I am among those seller.  But I have not seen nor do I think Ebay has released any stats on this program.

I didn't and still don't see any questions. Sorry. What was the question you think you asked? I would be happy to answer it. And you didn't answer my second question posed, I am curious how you think combined shipping was a short term issue.

Assuming you thought you asked if I had seen any negative stats, my question would be good answer. Just use your same logic you did in your response. You have also seen those with complaints about EIS, right? But I was genuinely interested in actual stats which I thought you had, and not anecdotes.

Aren't you assuming they didn't read it, and that what you posted is clear and accurate? For example:Captureczxczxczcxzxc.PNG

Also nowhere do I see it state that eBay will charge you more for shipping than what they collect from the buyer.

(Yes I want my penny back)Capturejjljjl.PNGCapture,n,n,n.PNG

Then of course I don't see it say anything saying you can't send an invoice. Even though you have an option to send one.

Don't see anything saying that you can list/sell/ship an item with keyword in the title that will have deemed undeliverable AFTER you ship it out. For example a piece of uranium depression glass. We can't ship fiesta ware, or anything made from granite?

Don't see it explained if we pay fees on the shipping to the hub and the international shipping?

Where does it say what the "motor deposit" is?

Does it say they hold the funds until after it ships out from the hub and how long it that takes?

I went by what the OP said.  You may have interpreted differently than I did, I take no issue with that.  But for me, some were basic questions covered in the links I provided, which said to me that they had not read the information.  Not sure why you are taking offense with that, but it was never my intention to offend you or anyone else.  Anyone that doesn't like the program does not have to use it.  It is a decision for each seller to make for themselves.

FYI I did not write the policies nor did I have anything to do with approving them.  I posted the information so those that are interested can learn what the make up of the policy is.  I had nothing to do with what is nor what isn't in the policy.  You may want to address some of your questions directly to Ebay.

Are there reason why some sellers would not want to use the program?  Sure, I can live with that.

Only one of 5 questions is vaguely answered in the policy.  I didn't say you wrote the policy, however you are the one providing it, while claiming it is a great program.  I assume you know of the lack of clarity and the errors that commonly associated with policy. I am not offended. I was just pointing out your approach can offend someone else and or not be helpful. Which according to OP, appears to be the case. Sure it works for you, yes the links are helpful as you intended, but I would suggest a disclaimer about the quality of the links you post. That way when someone encounters an issue with a great program not explained by policy, it's less of a shock.

Address the issues with eBay? You want me to, again, talk to someone who never even read the policy, who will do whatever it takes, including lie to get me off the phone? Has something changed from the past 10 years where this would be worth doing?

Yes I did post it.  Your posts do not present to me as just simple questions.  But as if you expect me to defend the policy or something.  I provided the policy for everyone to see it that wants to.

I have no idea why my opinion of this program as being a good program would "offend" anyone.  IDK why my posting of the policy link "offends" anyone.  Neither makes any sense to me.

I answered the questions you asked that I could.   What you feel you didn't get answers for, you should likely direct to Ebay for clarity.

Your expectation that anyone that posts a link should be able to explain that policy completely and beyond what might even be stated in the policy is unrealistic.   And your comment "I would suggest a disclaimer about the quality of the links you post" is also an unrealistic expectation.

if you have issues with the quality of CSRs that respond to your questions or concerns from the Call Back function.  Then don't use it.  It isn't the only way to contact customer service.

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://www.facebook.com/ebay

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

It's "unrealistic" for you to mention that the policy is not clear, complete, or accurate; to the person you believe never read it before? I can see that being what a rep or bot would say, but I always assumed you were a human. Less of a CS rep approach is just a suggestion.

I believe you missed the point, but I will gladly use the copy/paste to remake it. I chose Facebook: I stated the problem and what policy states and asked if this was temp or permanent. CS starts off by saying it could have happened. I was retold the policy twice, and given the link to policy, then told what happened couldn't have because of policy. Then told it could be a magic "pilot program" and then was given the obligatory 'get back to you in 72 hours, bye.'  That took 29 minutes. Will I get lucky and hear back? Maybe, Will my question be answered? Doubtful.
