EBAY fees based on (purchase price + shipping costs + sales tax) plus 30 handling charge. If you sell internationally you will be charged additional "international fee". If you "promote" your listing there will be additional fee when you item sells.

there are listing fees or insertion fees
normally they are at the bottom of the draft and are a quarter if you have used all your freebies up
extra promotions such as bold title and so forth I am not sure when they are paid. I never use them
you can look at your fees when you are paid
if you ship to Los Angeles with a 10% tax rate then you are effectively paying an extra 1 % in fees
your 12.9 fee is on the whole ball of wax with taxes rolled in.
if you have a store or are a top rated seller then there are discounts
the fees are very repetative so you pay the same percentage over and over again

You cannot know the exact fees until you know who bought it, how much they paid, how much the shipping is, whether there is sales tax, and whether you used promoted listings.
