I am selling a small amount of watch parts . I seem to be experiencing returns where the buyers are expecting the parts, watch glasses to fit fake replica watches . My descriptions list exactly the models the parts fit and also the fact we do not sell parts to fit replica watches !
So here I am having to accept returns and swallow the original postage cost as the buyer will receive a full refund .
As a Buy it Now listing I cant stipulate a No returns policy because of Distance selling .
What do other sellers do in these circumstances?
Ive had damaged items returned saying they wont fit . All my items fit the models listed perfectly .
Thanks

Such is online selling with a venue that uses a payment processor. Returns are part of the game.
Every time I get a return with whatever the reason, I usually add more text to the Description field and also the Item Specifics that clarify further.
Make it stand out.
Best of luck moving forward.

Returns seem to be getting out of hand.
I'm getting a lot of "doesn't work" returns. When the items arrive back, I test them, and somehow? They work again. LOL (LOL at my expense though....ugh).
Little bit, or A LOT, hypocritical though.
As sellers, we hate returns and we complain about returns. But when it comes us buying the wrong size something at Wally World, we be the 1st in line to return that next time we are there.

As TRS+ you can report the buyer and withhold half the refund if you so deem fit.

I'm not sure what you mean by that ^^^^.
You CAN have a "no return" policy but if the buyer claims NAD (whether lying or not), you do have to accept the return or issue a refund.
But with a no return policy, you certainly can decline a return for "doesn't fit" or "don't like" or "changed mind." In other words, a no return policy allows you to choose whether to accept or deny requests for remorse reasons and buyer pays return shipping. And for listings in which you charge for shipping (i.e., you don't have free shipping), you can deduct their original shipping payment from the refund.

The return policies options are as follows.
With option number 1, No Returns the seller can completely deny taking a return for a Buyer's Remorse Return Request. Or if they want to they can accept the return and have the buyer pay the return shipping. If the seller so chooses they can withhold the original shipping if it was separately stated on the listing [not free shipping] when it is time to refund the buyer.
On options 2 & 3 the buyer is responsible for the return shipping on a Buyer's Remorse Return. Plus if the seller so chooses they can withhold the original shipping if it was separately stated on the listing [not free shipping] when it is time to refund the buyer. As of October 1st 2019, sellers that are TRS have some additional protections as well as they can issue partial refunds if they options 2 or 3 as their return policy.
On options 4 & 5 above, they are also known as Free Returns. If a seller that has either of those policies they will pay the return shipping even on a buyer's remorse return. A seller can withhold the original shipping value from the refund if the shipping was separately stated in the listing [not free shipping]. Also Seller’s offering options 4 or 5 have the ability to do partial refunds in certain cases if the item arrives back damaged, missing something or in a condition less than what it was sent to the buyer in, see the policy for more details, the link is below. In the cases where a deduction in the refund is taken due to damage or other authorized reasons for a partial refund, Ebay will protect the seller from negative or neutral feedback.
ALL OPTIONS [1, 2, 3, 4 and 5] are required to process SNAD claims without exception. Even if they are improperly filed and should have been a Buyer’s Remorse claim.
All return policies by sellers must meet or exceed what is stated in the Money Back Guarantee Policy!
14 day return policies are allowed in certain categories: Jewelry & Watches, Collectibles & Art, Cameras & Photo and Medical, Mobility & Disability Equipment.
For those with Free Return and/or TRS members with 30 day return policies, there are some added protection benefits, one of which is the ability to do a discounted refund under certain conditions.

@twdservice I always send a message after a buyer has paid asking them to confirm that they are aware of ... then list your specifics - This item will not work for a replica watch, it will only fit an orginal OEM watch.
We sell pole displays for restaurant terminals. Some have a USB connector, and some have a PS2 connector. So I have them confirm that they needed the PS2. If I'm selling an item For Parts, I ask them to confirm that. Good Luck!

Thanks for all your help . Seems to me there isnt a no returns policy at all just a Smoke screen for allowing buyers to return items regardless .
A recent buyer has now left negative feedback becuase the glass they purchased for a fake watch doesnt fit even though my listing states we do not provide parts for fake watches. It woukld never of fitted anyway as its for an older model watch . The whole thing is soo frustrating . Im considering pulling away as its too much hassle for the effort involved !

@twdservice
Above, you can see what the different return policies are, what you can choose, and the outcomes.
HOWEVER, what's not explained....
I have the policy where anything can be returned, for any reason, within 30 days. Because, when you get right down to it, anything CAN.
I mean, if they want to return it, they are going to. So, by letting customers know this, there's a real good chance they will choose "the real reason" for the return. Which means they will unknowingly choose a method that they have to pay the return shipping cost. AND, most importantly, I'll know why they are returning the item. And I can re-list it and sell it again.
IF I did not do that. They are still going to return the item and in order to do so, they are going to make the item fit the return policy by saying the item is no good, damaged, or broken. I'll then be paying the return shipping and will receive an item back that I cannot sell again.
Also..
Things are going to get returned and you are going to refund. You can suck it up, smile and be cheerful about it, or you can throw a fit, argue and be snotty about it.
One method tends to get you another shot at that customers money, and good feedback.
The other method will surely not.

"Distance Selling" is a UK/EU thing. Specific set of rules governing such.
