There is a Ebay Motors ad (video) on the photos part of my listing.

I didn't put it there and I can't get rid of it.

Please don't tell me this is something new.

This is "automatically" inserted by eBay, and, you have no control over adding, editing or removing it.

It started appearing on some of my "motors" listings I would guess around 2 months ago, then about a month ago it seemed to be on all of my listings.

Wow. That is insidious advertising. I have not seen this before but there are so many things happening all the time I might have missed this feature. I do not see any videos on my listings. It probably depends on the category. I only click on videos to see if it tells about the product. I think that is helpful when purchasing something. This video is not helpful on yours and in my opinion is a waste of time for a buyer.

@inhawaii unfortunately it is a new thing and it doesn't appear it's going away any time soon.

They insert similar videos for Authenticity Guaranteed, Certified Refurbished and The eBay Vault for trading cards too. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it if they only did it on listings that actually qualify for those services but instead it seems to be done by category, which is just asking for trouble.

For example the Guaranteed Fit program explicitly excludes wheels and tires, but this video is still shown on wheel and tire listings - that's false advertising in my opinion and we know the seller will be the one to pay the price if a buyer is confused by it.

I just looked up the item & there was no "extra" interference on it. no video. maybe they took it down?

@moldy5 - it's still there, they're talking about the eBay Motors video that is inserted along with the seller provided images.

I see it. (Win10/Chrome). Lucky you! At least it is 'mildly' related to your product, in that at least they are not showing an ad for their sneaker authenticator. Is there any added protection for you if your buyer claims the stickers don't fit? No, wait that would be a 'remorse' return....???? Unless they claim SNAD, doesn't fit.

Perhaps the "future" is to stick Promoted Listings there provided the "promoter" pays a high rate.

It looks like any listing on ebay motors has that added video.

I tried to change the category for that listing out of ebay motors but it wont let me.

Sporting Goods > Outdoor Sports > Skateboarding & Longboarding > Stickers & Decals

I get the following error message.

I guess I'll just leave it where it is.

It's newish, and it's horrible. IF eBay's bots/AI/algorithms/ whatever you want to call whatever eBay uses these days to do work on the site could put it ONLY in appropriate listings, it would be bad enough -- but to shove it in where it does not belong at all, as in this case, is awful.

Will buyers think you are so stupid that you believe the video relates to what you're selling? Will buyers think you believe they're the stupid ones, or that maybe you're trying to pull some fast one on them? I doubt if very many buyers will know that you did not put that video there.

I am glad my active selling days on eBay are over because it's just a bit much for me, old broad that I am, how invasive eBay is becoming. I'm sure other venues are as bad, too, in this Brave New World.
