Give a show of hands! How many have had a major drop in sales for 2018 and very little assistance from eBay? You can’t get any assistance with eBay. It just seems they are blowing themselves up. Talk about stocks going down! Be there for the sellers, be there for the buyers, just by gosh be there. I have plenty I would like to say about this topic, but I want to hear from others. . . Tell me what’s happened with your account(s)? Thanks!!

Exactly. And most likely why my sales have remained steady. I don't sell anything you would find at Walmart, mostly not on the river, certainly not from China (well, except for Chinese stamps). My sympathy for those who try to compete with those other places--it's a tough row to hoe.
It's why I try to specialize in things that are only available from one store/place. They may not be available anywhere else online, or if they are, they may be sold out online but still in the physical stores-- in other words, people can't just go somewhere else to get these things if they want them. It seems to be working well enough for me so far!

Lots of things pointing towards eBay struggling.
Yeah, I agree. All the changes point to a company that is struggling, thrashing, and following, rather than leading. A lot of the changes seem to be geared toward meeting earnings expectations in the short term. Hopefully they will get it straightened out.

I am very concerned about this trend of downward sales. I want to hope there is light at the end of the tunnel but have made several calls to ebay on more than 1 subject with no solutions or even guesses as to what the problem is. Can a company this large really have no idea of what is going on? I am worried that I am just throwing my money away trying to pay for listings when even the items that have multiple watchers are not selling. I do not have a store thank god because my fees would be even higher but have not had a listing promotion for over 2 1/2 years and I have been a loyal seller for over 16 years. I have tried everything to improve this but it keeps going downhill. At this point just trying to figure out what the next step is and hoping ebay makes some improvements.

What kind of assistance do you need from Ebay ? You do know that they cannot force buyers to purchase your stuff.

It would be nice if eBay had CSRs with real online sales experience who could look at one's store and offer concrete helpful suggestions. Oops! Sorry, we're not in Never Never Land.

You could ask right here on the boards. I'm sure there is more than 500 years experience to help anyone seeking to improve their listings. They must be willing to accept the help, and make appropriate changes to get buyers to hit those BIN buttons. There's really no need for CS to answer those types questions. They are geared more for helping those having problems other than buyers not purchasing their stuff.

Going on 3 days, crickets.

Had a really good day today, best in almost a year I think. I'm up almost 600% over last month and down 45% since last year. Plan seems to be working.

no. ebay knows exactly what is happening and what they're doing.
their coding is a little off though, cos if someone does very ewll unexpedtedly the initial dropoff as you get on their downward slope avg just makes it appears that something is severely broken.
im at the point where all my sales happen in brief windows and only during specific periods of the listing lifespan
just put up a new item midweek, 2 sold immediately within the first 3 hours and within 90min of each other iirc. and then nothing.

I’ve decided to let it all go. We can guess, but that’s all we can do. I’m not buying anything I want to put on here. I made a few good sales on Facebook and on my own store. I guess you can see by my listings that I am no longer a serious seller anymore. If it sells, great; if it doesn’t, then that’s okay too. That’s my attitude. I can’t fight it anymore. I do have an inflated invoice I need to speak to them about.
It’s way too stressful. I’m only going to list a few things here and there. I think one of my problems is the competition I am dealing with and several of them have anchor stores. It’s a shame. I’ve read where one person has an anchor store and he is literally starving because it’s a one year commitment. If I were him, I would screenshot everything as I have, and fight it in claims court. They have broke their commitment to him so he shouldn’t be held to this situation.
Search ebay-sales-down 50% and find ads.ink. That’s a sad story.

My December 2018 sales are the worst in sixteen years. My Item Specifics, Item Description, Condition, Photos. Prices are all good. I search eBay history for sales. I find the EXACT same items SOLD for MORE than my list price. The only explanation I can fathom is the eBay-inserted links on my Item page, for example, similar items and sponsored items links, send potential Buyers off to other pages. What a CROCK!

5 days - *2* sales. The decision has been made for me. eBay will no longer be my main source for online sales come 2019. Will focus on other venues. Do not expect much from those. MUCH was expected of eBay! 100 millions members? Does not help much when most cannot even see your listings due to limited exposure. My best item posted had 150 views & 6 watchers last month. 0 offers. Relisted. 60 views & 4 watchers. 0 offers. Even when there is decent interest, everyone sits on their wallets. lol Most items get about 20 views in 30 days. Right! Best wishes to all. Cheers!

Try lowering price $1 and relist.
