So I have done quite a bit of research on this and the last thread that was posted on this topic is closed d/t age of thread and because it was "solved". Basically the issue is a problem with formatting the description in our eBay listings. The "solved" thread had a solution of this: simply do not create your description using anything other than eBay (i.e. Word, Notes, etc.). It was stated that there would not be an issue if you create your listing solely on the eBay page. So, I listened to this - decided to create a generic template by literally typing every single character out (no copy paste at all). I used the eBay tool "Advanced editing" while I did this. I centered the text, made my title bold, as well as the subsections I include in every listing. I also typed out a short explanation of who we are as sellers, what we feel we do well, and a little about our shipping/return policy. Nothing crazy. Really basic. I think I only used the bold tool and the center tool. No colors, no change in font, no change in font size. When I use this template for my listings it appears that everything is working okay (for the most part), however, let's say down the line - I realize I missed something in the description so I go in to edit it. I have no problem doing this on a Mac but when trying to do this on my eBay app using a phone, I always am presented with this message - "Unsupported format . . . Remove formatting to continue." If I click this to continue, ALL formatting is gone on that description. I simply don't understand why this is so difficult for eBay to handle. I understand if they want uniformity across seller's listings but IMO doing just these simple formatting options on my listings (reminding you I am using only the tools eBay offers!) make a difference and I believe it makes it easier for my customer to read through, not to mention that it looks more professional. I just really don't want anyone replying to this and stating that I need to just remove ALL formatting and make it all plain text, left orientation. If this is my only option - WHY are there formatting tools even available to us as sellers????? Okay, sorry - rant over. lol. Anyone having this problem and want to complain with me?? 😂
