Ebay Is Guaranteeing Media Mail Delivery in 5 days when I have 2 Day Hamdling?

I had a buyer purchase an item being shipped media mail from Rhode Island to Missouri. I have a 2 day handling time set on all my listings. I will be shipping it tomorrow but I still see no way Ebay can Guarantee delivery media mail by April 25th? Can anyone else envision this? Maybe if the stars aligned just perfectly but....

Unrealistic shipping times is something that sellers here have been complaining about to eBay admin for years, and all we get are milksop answers. I have the same ridiculous claims on my media mail items, but when I print out the labels, the target times for delivery are more realistic.

ebay's usual answer is that they 'ignore' a seller's stated handling times and go by when the seller "historically' ships.

It's just wrong on all levels.

Try to explain 'under promise and over deliver' and 'truth in advertising' which is a basic rule in merchandising 101.  Whizz! It goes right over eBay admin's heads because they know nothing about sales.  The mods here listen and pass along our concerns, but whomever is in charge of this particular area of policy just doesn't seem to get it.  I guess they figure if it works 'most' of the time and looks good, that's all that matters.

There is no guaranteed delivery for Media mail. The estimated delivery for Media mail would be more like on or before, Tuesday April 28. Hopefully, sooner.

Does it say guaranteed delivery date or estimated delivery date?  I have some items and the estimated delivery date has changed 3 times!  The first date came and went and the seller hadn't even shipped them yet!  I am understanding of this because I ordered seeds from a couple of different sellers, and from what I've heard from them is that they are being creamed right now.  Both sellers have their stores shut down while they try and catch up.  I only wish I had this very problem...

I'm not complaining because while my sales are small, they are steady right now.  I am up 90% over last year at this time but down from last month, but only because I had one really big sale that was unusual for me.

eBay guarantees it, though.  Free delivery in FOUR days?  I have a two day handling, also.

On my original listing it says GUARANTEED BY April 25th? Now I am wondering if this was based on my zip code? Even if it was all media mail goes to New Jersey 1st and we know what kind of a hell hole New Jersey is right now. I am going to check the details page and see what it says.

I just checked the order details page and that is showing Estimated Delivery April 27th, so I guess it was showing Guaranteed not it is not. I don't know. My bigger problem now is with I customer in The Netherlands not being able to purchase an item from me even though I have Global Shipping checked off and Ebays April 8th Announcements still showing The Netherlands is being serviced by the program but they will not let him pay and are giving him a message that states "SELLER DOES NOT SHIP TO YOUR COUNTRY" which is a lie, I do through Global Shipping.

The "announcements" says that they have added "1 day" to estimates because of the current situation.

Not sure how they think "1 day" is any kind of realistic cushion.

Our "seller performance" is protected (from eBay) at this time, but buyers may still not be happy.

I don't think it is so much that it flys over the heads of those in charge.  I think it is more, 'it's what the buyers want to hear, so let's please them'.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The Netherlands is really easy to ship to - you could always just turn off global shipping for that listing and ship there yourself.

This ^^^^^

I had a look at your ELP listing, when I use a nearby zip code it shows April 25th which would be accurate if you shipped on Monday or even Tuesday. If I change it to a more distant zip I get April 28th, if I change it to a really distant zip it shows April 30th.

I also noted that the Guaranteed Delivery thing only shows when using a nearby zip, once I move out to a more distant zone the GD goes away.

My opinion....eBay is calculating estimated delivery times correctly.

I changed my location to the Netherlands (same ELP listing) and it does offer shipping to The Netherlands via GSP.
