I sold a LV limited edition backpack on Ebay, it was sent to Authenticators in Las Vegas. Authenticators claimed it was not original when in fact it is 100% authentic! Backpack was purchased at the LV boutique on Rodeo Dr, by me personally. The Authenticators have no clue what is authentic or not! What a waste of time and money for shipping. I will never sell on Ebay again! The authenticators are incompetent and clueless!

There are specialist sites for luxury item sales. I've never thought eBay to be the place to shop for stuff like that.

I'm kind of clueless about handbags and the authentication process...
But "not original" and "not authentic" sound like 2 different things to me.
I sell coins. So at least from my world, "Not original" sounds like "altered". They may be saying something was done to the bag? I think they would've come out and said "can not be authenticated" or "counterfeit" if they thought that was the case... so sounds like you may be misreading the meaning.

This required Authenticity Guarantee is BAD Policy. If a buyer or seller wants to add it to their transaction, and accept the risks & delays, then fine let it be their choice, let it be optional. I just had my first experience with the program and it is an inefficient nightmare. It has left both myself & buyer exteremly upset. The authenticator rejected an item that was described 100% correct (it was authenticated before listing it). So it takes 2 weeks or more for sellers to get their item back and the ebay buyers can't buy it here. This is a failed program and just another reason for sellers to not keep their eggs in one basket.
