Did you mean:

EBay is not what it once was.

I've sold on ebay for years and I have never had the **bleep** I like I get now. Sellers can't leave a negative. Buyers bidding and not paying. I sold a vehicle 3 times and never no deposit or pay. Ebay hasn't don't crap about it and it's suppose to relist free. I got charged every time...

Titled property sales (vehicles and real estate) are and have always been non-binding. Either party can walk away at any time. Listings for those are not like listing on the main site.   When you list cars and real estate you're running a classified ad.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Vehicle sales are not binding, and never have been. As far as eBay is concerned, you had a successful sale. Maybe you should have read the terms before listing.

And giving meg/neutral to buyers went away 13 years ago. Get over it.

In 2000 eBay Motors was the only online market place for cars, plus not a state regulator in the US had heard of eBay Motors.  Fast forward 2020, there is a whole lot of competition and state DMVs have had considerable influence on listing practices for eBay Motors.

Here's the eBay Motors policy regarding non paying bidders:

"Cars and other motor vehicles are typically high-value items, so we have some additional guidelines in place to make these transactions go smoothly and to protect our buyers and sellers.

Bidding on motor vehicles is non-binding and is slightly different from bidding on other items. When you place a bid in this category, you're consenting to sharing your contact details with the seller, who can get in touch with you directly to discuss the sale."

Sellers have been unable to leave negative or neutral ratings for buyer s since May 20, 2008 -- that's nearly 14 years.

Strategies for dealing with, and penalizing, nonpaying buyers have been in place for at least that long.

Maybe eBay isn't the best venue for selling your vehicle.

Regarding NPBs,    eBay has always had what I call Sport bidders.    Certainly I've had to deal with

a quanity of them in 22 years.   It's the main reason I stopped running auctions.

I miss the good old days when you could give them a strike  and a Neg.

Around 2015, I sold my folk's Accord on eBay.  I listed it for local sale and fixed price at $9K.  I knew the wholesale price for the car based on Manheim's wholesale prices and priced the car around $500 below.  Within hours of the listing going live, some local used car dealer bid and won, then later that day showed up with a bank check.  I gave him title and the keys and off he went.

There is a strategy in dealing with non paying bidders.

Ebay has changed and NOT for the better. I have been on Ebay since 1996 and sold and bought 10,000s of items. NOW its complicated, can't leave negative for non paying, no buyers...  It a shame, they destroyed it.
