I had one German medal listed on EBAY and it was taken down as a violation to their policies.. I searched ebay prior to listing to know its value.. both in active and completed auctions and found many of the same medal up for sale and Sold. So I never considered it would be prohibited.
I think in all of my sales this was the only WWII related item I have ever offered.
Ive been selling vintage on EBAY since 2000 chancethearm (1075)
100% positive feedback
It is a german war cross from 1939.. the date on the front the nazi swastika on the back. Most on ebay right now have the ribbon attached still mine did not.
If the policy says you cannot sell Nazi Related items because you consider them to be Hate items, then why do they have a category specifically for that.. or any category that covers any item from the german military be it photos or clothing from that time period.. Its ALL NAZI material. Ive seen countless medals sold on ebay with Swastikas or a piece tape over the swastika or IRON CROSSES being sold because they don’t have a Swastika? Othe Iron cross is one of the Highest awards given to a NAZI did the folks in the offices in Ebay skip history class in 6th grade? Ebay needs to either allow historical vintage pieces from WWII to be sold or stop it entirely.
Here is their category from EBAY…… Collectibles > Militaria > WW II (1939-45) > Original Period Items > Germany > Medals, Pins & Ribbons "so pretty much everything in this category is Nazi" and everybody knows that.
Heres another note.. my name is O’Rourke. Although estimates vary, it is believed as many as 1 million Irish men, women and children perished during the British Occupations, and another 1 million emigrated from the island to escape poverty and starvation. This is not to compare the enormity of the Holocaust to the the history of the Irish or even discount the horror of the Holocaust in any way as I believe we should be teaching it openly to our children and their children but I point out the Irish History because if you decide on censorship as your means of control over one horror and unthinkable groups behavior then maybe you need to cast your censorship wider.. and allow for NO MILITARY items, photos ,clothing at all .. from any country to be sold. Of course EBAY would lose a lot of money if that happened.
I called today and spoke to a sweet girl who is trained to just tell you .. sorry.
in 2011 I started moving my sales to ETSY because of the Changes in Ebay and how they treat their sellers. I only use Ebay for a few items now.. I'll be cutting those few.

I’m sorry .... I understand your frustration.
(not an eBay employee)
The liberals have decided that certain symbols are not allowed and are hate related.
Wiping out parts of history will only allow it to happen again..
I keep wondering what “they” will be offended by next.
This is how it all begins. Telling what to think, say and own...

You can sell WWII German militaria on Ebay, just not anything marked with a swastika as most people around the world, both liberals and conservatives, see the German swastika as a symbol of hatred. The selling of items marked with a swastika is banned in a few countries and Ebay, as an international selling platform, takes the easiest way of dealing with that issue and does not allow the sale of such items. There are a number of well known and very reputable militaria websites that do allow for the sale of such items.
