So the ones that take selling on ebay seriously. Are we going to start raising our Buy It Now prices, since the fees are going up? Are you not tired of basically giving away your product? Lets Stop trying to make pennies and start raising our prices.

Depends on the item. On some yes I will raise prices. Others just trying to move no I just wont lower the price.
Just like when ebay gave themselves a cut of Shipping fees. I raised my shipping charges to offset the fees. Which is counter to what ebay wants. So it was a bad move by them. ebay wants lower shipping & then raised fees. Sorry ebay but you cant have lower shipping charges & then want a cut of the shipping charges at the same time.
ebay wants to be / do battle with amazon. They should instead focus on being ebay. They dont have to be amazon. They can never be amazon unless they want to build warehouses & buy BILLIONS of dollars worth of inventory.
If I was ebay I would go back a bit to the old ebay & sell myself as the ANTI amazon. Play off the fact that ebay has SMALL Sellers compared to amazon that treats its workers like S$%&^!

I think most sellers here take it seriously. Some have different ideas; some have better success; some are better at it than others. But I don't think that should be mistaken for not being serious about it.

I evaluate and adjust my prices any time there is a shift in my cost structure - whether that be changes in fees, shipping costs, supplies, or acquisition costs.
I do the same thing to address changes in the market - whether than is a change in supply, demand, competition, or taste.
Are you not tired of basically giving away your product? Lets Stop trying to make pennies and start raising our prices.
I have never given away my product, or only made pennies. It that is happening to a seller, I would go back to my first response above - perhaps some are better at selling than others.

eBay's goal was not to "lower shipping costs". It was to increase profits while eliminating the financial penalty for sellers who offered free shipping.
"necklace" - 5.3 million listings.
"necklace" with free shipping - 3.2 million listings.
= 60% of listings have free shipping.
"battery" - 3.9 million listings.
"battery" with free shipping - 2.83 million listings.
= 72% of listings have free shipping.
"cell phone" - 296k listings.
"cell phone" with free shipping - 188k listings.
= 63% of listings have free shipping.
I think eBay accomplished exactly what they wanted.

You just had a $39.99 sale for Mattel "Heart Family" item. What was your net after eBay fees, shipping (since you use free shipping), and acquisition cost?

I agree. eBay is trying to be AMAZON or compete with them. I feel eBay is trying to rid it's platform of the small sellers, mom and pop sellers, and occasional sellers.

I think you need to rethink your marketing/selling strategy if this is happening. Last I checked, fees were no where near 100% of sales on buyer paid shipping.
or exaggerate less, take your pick

The fee increase announced in the last Seller Update is not enough to make me adjust my prices. And that's especially true since I'm also getting more free insertion fees....But every seller is different, some work on very close margins, some don't, and some have a pretty good grasp of the fee structure and some don't.

I am always recommending people to raise their prices for various reasons.
If your expenses increase raise your prices. I have raised all my prices at least three times in the last year. Every time USPS rates went up I raised prices. When my other expenses increased I raised my prices. The cost of all the cleaning supplies that I use in my shop increased last year and there was the added costs of buying masks.
My Ebay fees have not increased but if they did I would raise my prices.
I am more concerned with inflation in general that will raise prices on everything this year. Fuel costs are rising and that will cause many other prices to go up.

Well if you're not making a profit you're doing something wrong.
