Hello Friends,
I was just out there looking around and found duplicate, triplicate and more listings of the same object. I thought maybe they were from the same seller but that wasn't the case. Don't know if you have noticed this. Maybe it's the categories I search in. They are mostly vintage/antique porcelains and glass. So, it's not like a person has many of the same item to sell. There appears to be some kind of glitch with listing. Sellers post the listing and don't go back to look to see if everything came out all right. So, if you are listing, check back to see that your listing didn't clone itself.

Do you have an example? i.e. Transaction numbers to compare?

Your post if confusing. If they are not from the same seller, then they are not duplicate listings.

That is not entirely true.
It is against eBay policy for a seller to use multiple accounts to list duplicate items. So if these accounts do belong to the same seller, they may very well be duplicate listings under eBay's definition.
We don't allow more than one fixed price listing of an identical item at the same time from the same seller. This includes: Listing an identical item in different categories or listing an identical item using different usernames
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-policies/duplicate-listings-policy?id=4255
But there is also the possibility that these sellers are not related and are simply using the same photos and descriptions provided by a manufacturer, wholesaler or drop shipping service - which would not necessarily violate eBay policy.

Its some thing called sell similar which is then done in exact..... Who know if they have the same object or not...

The Chinese do it all the time. List 10 duplicate items (same photos, same description) under 10 different ID's. I see it every day

I should know better. There was a post last week that addressed this. The OP said they listed identical items under more than one ID.
Thank you for the refresher.

Ebay does nothing to curve or remove duplicate listings, you should look at the fishing items, I've seen up to 10 of the exact heading, size, color and price from several sellers. I've reported it and call in, the rep says "oh no that's against the rule, we take care of it", nothing in years. I've listed duplicate listings and even ebay's duplicate listing bot isn't catching it, goes right thru(no I don't leave the listing up). Sad part is these idiots don't have a clue what supply and demand is, flood the market and the prices crash.

Hi,
Sorry if I did not make myself clear. There were 2, 3 or 4 listings of the same item, the same vase over and over again. Then there were other items on the same page listed 2,3,4 times from other sellers. I said duplicate listings of an item. So, it was not just happening to one seller but many. These were items that would be one of a kind not like socks and underwear. I went back to the place where I saw this and they were all gone. Things were back to normal with one listing. All I know is that I saw it and it looked like a technical issue. I had heard from a friend of mine who is a seller and it also happened to her. I just wanted to clarify.

And how many other rules that we have to follow do we see the chinese sellers breaking every day? Ebay just doesn't apply any rules to them.
