I have two sales going on at one time.  I have a 40 per cent off and Buy 3 and get $10 off.  Will both apply to one sale?

It looks like both are applied.  I put 3 items which were each 40% off in my cart.   The 3 item total was $10.95 (18.25 before the discount).  Then I received a discount of $10.  So the total before shipping was .95.  When some of your items are low priced like that, a $10 discount may be too high? Can you limit which items are discounted?
