Drafts, are they automatically relisted?

I have some draft items to relist when I get more free listings again. Right now they have fees if I relist those now. I’m wondering if I will be charged those fees shown on my draft items when the time comes when Ebay does their automatically  relisting.

Drafts are just that, a draft.  They are not an active listing.  No one can purchase from a Draft listing.  Until you post the listing it will not incur fees if owed nor can any buyers even see the listing.

So if you are waiting for your next allotment of free listings that will come on November 1st and you post after that date there will not be a fee while you have some left to be used in the allotment.  On listings you post after you have used up your free ones, there will be a fee.

I don't recall any draft being automatically relisted, nor anything else for that matter.  I have used drafts to relist for the same purpose and was not charged any fees.  But things change around here often enough that I might be, once again, out of date.

A listing that is not listed [a draft] can't relist.  It requires the listing to be listed first before a renewal can happen.  It can't renew before it was ever listed [a draft].

It would defeat the purpose of a draft listing.

And yet...

ebay has been known to send a nastygram about duplicates or restricted items etc when the listing in question was NOT live but just sitting in drafts.

I've also heard rumors of drafts mysteriously going 'live' without the seller's input.

Myself - I avoid using drafts. Do I trust ebay? Not particularly anymore.

I've missed those reports.  Do you have any links to them.  I've never read about anyone getting a warning for a duplicate listing regarding a listing that isn't even posted to the site.  I'm not sure how that could even happen.

Yes, but I sometimes use drafts to store listings from my unsold list.  Unsold items eventually disappear, I think after 60 days, so I create a draft before they disappear from that list in order to relist at a later date.  The main point was, to the best of my knowledge,  that only current GTC listings automatically relist.  But yes, my post was indeed poorly worded.

I think to be safe, I’m removing my draft items. I’ll simply take a piece of paper and list all the items I have on that draft. I got a large amount of fees to pay if those draft items automatically get relisted at he end of the month. My earrings with free shipping don’t leave me much profit as it is so those fees will really hurt.

If they are important to you, it is unnecessary to remove your drafts.  Draft listings in the draft tool on Ebay are just that.  Draft listings.  You have control of when or IF they post to be an active listing.
