Let me congratulate those claiming their sales has reached the roof and on their way to the space station. Their sales must be like the hot stuff flowing out of Mount Kilauea   We, on the other hand, We - that is- the nickel and dimers, potato fries and chicken feet sellers, our sales seemed to have vacationed in the North Pole and probably frozen to kingdom come.  Thing is, it also brought the 'feedbacks' feature of this wonderful selling paradise to Antartica not knowing when it will come back? Sales....,.sales.....galore...where art thou!

Sorry for your lack of sales but you are not alone.

Just check this Board for threads, No Sales, Slow Sales, my business is failing, etc.

I hope things pick up.

We hear ya.  Sales have never been so slow for us.  We were down 50% compared to last year.  We had a sale and fought our way to down 27% from last year.  But still way down.  We have been trying different catagorys and items to get back up.  But its been tough so far.  Best regards

Doggone it?

My sales picked up drastically when I started using both promotions + markdown manager.

However, I literally get all my stuff for dirt cheap at garage sales and thrift store sales, so, fees aren't that big of an issue for me.

I was already using promotions and sales picked up for me. Then, I marked down all my items by 10% using markdown manager and things have been flying off the shelves.

This makes me think that the reason that a lot of sales aren't happening for people is because they are no longer the ones with the lowest price on the market (OOAK and hand made items excluded from this since they're unique)

I'd price check EVERYTHING in my store but I have 1,200 items up and it's gotten harder to do that, so, I tried using markdown manager and lowering the cost of everything by 10% in my store and the sales came pouring in, it was crazy...

I know that not everyone wants to give a % of their sale to promotional fees or to run sales, so, my best advice would be to adjust and check prices and make sure you're still the lowest on the market.

Also, not to be that person, but you are selling in a niche category (looks like CDs and records only) and sales are generally slower for anyone in a niche category, because there's not a lot of variety.

I used to sell high- end audio equipment and much more stuff. With increasing complaints about honorable buyers who are experts in reading the fine prints, I decided not to sell such items anymore. Also, you are right on the money. With too many of us selling CD's and Lp's, no matter how matter the choices I offer to would-be buyers, there simply too many of us frying the fast in the same pans. Thank you for your wonderful message.

I always wonder if those "space station" people have volume as their goal, or profits.  Do they sell 100 items, at $1.00 profit each, or one item, with $100.00 profit.  Many sellers are, get it out the door, at any cost.  Giving stuff away is no great nack, but every seller has their own gig.

Dear Dog - wonder how many sellers here with slow to no sales have a basic store subscription? I got this message to day from ebay : "Want more exposure? Try upgrading to Premium level"

so that's it now?  but my other store is Premium and it's no dice over there either. Just really burned me they want more money. If there was even the slightest hint of selling anything I'd consider it - right now just trying to weed those things off and downgrade to starter store for the summer.

About a year ago I looked up a buyer that said they were doing great. Turned out they were selling $1.00 pieces of ribbon.

I don't see very many people saying their sales are through the roof.

But I do see people claiming sales are steady and returns are not an issue, and then getting accused of lying or being eBay shills.

Ebays answer to making a sale: A) give ebay more money B) Offer all services faster and freeer C) lower your prices to some ridiculous amount D) rinse, repeat until sold LOL.

Lucky,

Havent really seen anyone accused of lying or being shills, but I have seen a lot of people trying to tell others how to operate thier business becuase times are thin here and telling them their prices are too high, or they are trying to sell in a saturated clothing market ect.  Did you happen to see those?

I have great love for those in the spotlight right now, but I don't need to be told to lower my prices, or that my market is saturated or try getting a premium account and pay FREEBAY any more fees just so they can do what they already promised.......to put my items on a global selling platform where they can be seen and sold.
